Flanerie Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 Hi, I'm trying to figure out which hotel this is. From June 3o to July 4, Hotwire is showing me a midtown east 4 star boutique hotel that is 85% recommended. The amenities are as follows~ boutique hotel, fitness centre, restaurant, business centre, internet access, accessible for visually impaired, accessible for hearing impaired, accessible path of travel, accessible bathroom, in room accessibility, roll in shower. The rate is $166.77 Canadian. Thanks for your help!
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 Welcome to Betterbidding. This would be a possible match for the Lexington. If the Lexington, certainly a good deal. Flanerie Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 Thanks! I'll keep you posted. I just came across another two hotels that I would like to identify ~ any guesses on these ones? The dates are the same ~ June 3o to July 4. The first is an East Village/Lower East side 4 star hotel, 9o% recommended and 5/5 guest rating. Amenities ~ pet friendly, fitness centre, restaurant, business centre. $15o Canadian/and $12o US. The next hotel is a 4 star Chelsea area hotel that is 85% recommended. Amenities ~ free internet, restaurant, internet access, smoke free rooms, business centre. $164 Cdn. Thanks again!
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 4* LES - likely Wyndham Garden Chinatown. 4* Chelsea - possible match for Wyndham Garden Chelsea West Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
Flanerie Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 Thanks, will do! I keep finding more options that are appealing. Any chance this one could be something other than the Conrad? It's a 5 star in the financial/wall street district, 95% recommended. Amenities ~ pet friendly, fitness centre, business centre, internet access, accessible path of travel, wheelchair accessible, roll in shower, smoke free rooms, restaurant, self service laundry, accessible for hearing impaired, in room accessibility, accessible bathroom. The rate is $24o Canadian. Thanks!
AaronJB Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 This would likely be the Conrad. Please keep us updated with what you decide - thanks. Flanerie Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 Hi, I'm having a hard time deciding. I've come across two with a resort fee, including this one = Midtown Central Area, 4 star, 80% recommended, $193 Canadian. Amenities ~ Fitness centre, restaurant, business centre, internet access, self service laundry. Resort fee of $41 CDN. Thanks!
thereuare Posted June 27, 2015 Report Posted June 27, 2015 I'm having a hard time deciding.I'm very familiar with NYC... what is it that you're looking in a hotel for this stay and what is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes/fees and in US Dollars)? Flanerie Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 I'd say that I don't want to spend more than around $240 or so for a 4 to 5 star hotel, hopefully for a very nice hotel in a good location. Something modern would be great. In terms of location, I'd love something around Soho/LES/Highline but haven't really found anything. Midtown or Union square would also work. Thank you!
Flanerie Posted June 27, 2015 Author Report Posted June 27, 2015 I just found a 5 star, midtown central hotel for $231 Canadian. The only amenities listed are fitness centre, business centre, and internet access. 95% recommended. I'm tempted to just book this one but I'm not sure what it is. A few minutes ago I clicked on a 5 star and the last win was the Viceroy, but this time it's not giving me any hints.

If you click on the listing and then on the detail page scroll down to the bottom, do you see a detail about "This hotel typically charges guests a resort fee of about USD40 per person per night, regardless of how the room is booked. The hotel collects this fee directly from you, so it doesnt show in your Hotwire total."- If so, my guess would be the Westhouse. I'm not seeing the 4* MTC that you mention a couple of posts up when searching for these dates. Flanerie Posted June 28, 2015 Author Report Posted June 28, 2015 Thanks for your input. That one did not mention a resort fee, but the only close option that I now see a midtown 5 star that is 85% recommended in midtown central that has the same three amenities and indicates that there is a $50 Canadian resort fee.
AaronJB Posted June 28, 2015 Report Posted June 28, 2015 I'll also note on Expedia under $200 a few highlights: The Muse (Kimpton property) $187, Ink48 (also Kimpton, $187, although this property is somewhat out of the way in Hell's Kitchen), Renaissance 57 ($199) PRICELINE's regular rate section also has the newer Hyatt Herald Square for $167 (expedia has it at $199.) That Hyatt property looks quite sleek/modern and gets solid reviews on Tripadvisor. Please use the site's Expedia link to start your purchases and searches on Expedia.
