Hotwire Hotel: 7/28-7/30 4* Help

There are two of us needing one room.  I'm looking for $50 & under per night. I'd be happy if it was less, but I'm not sure if I can get what I want for that.  Basically I'm in it for the pool.  I would love a lazy river especially.  I had my heart set on the Strip South hotels, but it seems like the Luxor (best guess) is the only one in our budget and it's not exactly thrilling from a glance at the pool.  I'm absolutely kicking myself for not going for what I presumed to be Mandalay Bay when I saw it a few days ago (lesson learned).  Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated!

Is Strip S the only acceptable zone?

I'm seeing a 4* in Strip North for $40 (you may see a slightly different rate) w/Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Tennis, Spa, Free Parking, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower.

-- Would be a possible match for Treasure Island.

I'm also seeing a 4* in Strip South w/Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa, Free Parking, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower for $47

-- Possible match for the Tropicana.

Would either of these be of interest?

Thanks for your replay, AaronJB.  I really appreciate your time!

Neither of those two hotels are quite what I'm looking for, but I know I can't be too picky though, so I will consider them both.

Do prices change often? If I check back several times throughout the day or week am I likely to get different hotels/prices? Do they change regularly or weekly or just as they sell out of the cheap rooms? I guess what I'm getitng at is: do I need to just let go of a lazy river/ awesome pool (possibly paying for entry to one as a visitor) and book whatever I can find today before they get more expensive and there are less options or do I have a little more wiggle room/time and maybe a chance at those rooms I saw before coming back?  I don't want to hold out for something that is never going to happen, but I also don't want to book somewhere else but then find the exact one I want a week later.

Rates in Las Vegas change more often than any other hotel market in the country... but while it's possible the hotel you want does show up, it's also possible that rates go up from here and the hotel you want never shows up (a double whammy)

How about the Monte Carlo for $45/nite (please use the preceding link if you take this one)

At the very least you may want to take this as a back-up as it's refundable up until 3 days before your arrival (confirm policy during the check-out process).. this will give you a hotel with a good pool and the ability to take something better should it come along.

Your thoughts?

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.... or our Monte Carlo should you go with the above.
