AaronJB Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 For these dates, I'm seeing a 4.5* in the Mag Mile-RN area for $174 (you may see a slightly different price) w/Free InternetPet friendlyBoutique hotelFitness centerRestaurant(s)Business centerInternet accessSpa servicesAccessible for visually impairedAccessible for hearing impairedAccessible path of travelIn-room accessibilityAccessible bathroomAccessible parkingRoll-in showerThis would likely be the James. For about $16 more, a more central location. The Blackstone Renaissance is a nice property, but it's at the very bottom end of the Loop area - there's not going to be a lot going on directly around the hotel later at night. Amrd0212 Posted June 8, 2015 Author Report Posted June 8, 2015 Thanks for looking into my query. I am also not wanting to have Blackstone Renaissance. As it seems at a other end and I would prefer staying something closer to river north which would be more like a center fo downtown. Also like your said it would be convenient to go out at night. For me other hotels with 3 guests are going more than $200. I was also trying to look at Expedia Unpublished hotel rates which says powered by Hotwire. I could see for $153 Magnificent Mile North - Water Tower Area Hotel, 4.0-stars with below aminities but same is not showing up on Hotwire. Also Expedia counts children less than 1 year as one guest :) Amenities: Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Pool(s) Restaurant(s) Business center Internet access Tennis nearby Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Accessible path of travel In-room accessibility Accessible bathroom Accessible parking Roll-in shower It feels more like a Public Chicago. But Drake or Milenorth also seem to have more or like same aminities. I do not want to end up with Public Chicago else it would also turn out to be same as Blackstone Renaissance. Is there any link for Expe.dia Unpublished hotels too on better bidding? AaronJB Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 Are you three adults and one child or three adults? I'm very familiar with the area - is there something you're looking for in particular in terms of hotel? You can use the site's Expedia link here: Expedia. HOTWIRE considers 'children' age 2-17, so if you have a one year old you would NOT need to include him/her on a HOTWIRE search (but it would be a good ideal to call the hotel after you win to let them know that you have a 1 year old and ensure that the room assigned will accommodate a child) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
Amrd0212 Posted June 8, 2015 Author Report Posted June 8, 2015 Yes I am 3 adult and 1 child (less than 1 year). With HOTWIRE it only counts children more than 2 years. I wanted to stay closer to center like magnificent mile or river north. With kid I will have flexibility to go to hotel whenever required.
AaronJB Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 This wouldn't be the Public, given the pool amenity. This listing hasn't been ID'd/reported to the board, but I'd guess the Hampton Inn Mag Mile may have been upgraded from 3.5* to 4*. Amrd0212 Posted June 20, 2015 Author Report Posted June 20, 2015 Hi, i am still waiting to book hotel. I am thinking to book roo sometime i this week. Shall i wait for 3-4 days as its not long weekend and could get decent deal? Please suggest what is best as i have not done this before. I always have booked hotel months back. So sometime it sounds like taking a chance.
AaronJB Posted June 20, 2015 Report Posted June 20, 2015 You're less than a week from the hotel stay. Rates and inventory are not likely (it's not possible, but not likely) going to change much between now and your dates as hotels most likely have a very good idea of traffic for your dates at this point. Amrd0212 Posted June 20, 2015 Author Report Posted June 20, 2015 I am looking to stay in center close to magnificent mile and millenium park.I am interested in 4 star hotel in downtown millenium park grant park area which i am seeing with amenities as Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Wheelchair accessible, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in showerI feel this is Hyatt regency. Whaf do you think for this ?Do you think rates for it go down further for 3 adults?
thereuare Posted June 20, 2015 Report Posted June 20, 2015 Do you think rates for it go down further for 3 adults? You're less than a week from the hotel stay. Rates and inventory are not likely (it's not possible, but not likely) going to change much between now and your dates as hotels most likely have a very good idea of traffic for your dates at this point. To add to the above, you're searching for triple occupancy which often limits your choices and available inventory... if you're happy with the hotel and price then it would be better to take the offer now as it could disappear at any time. My guess for the 4* Downtown-Millennium Park-Grant Park property above would be the Hyatt Regency Chicago.
