I just got back from here.  Wifi wasn't free but it could've been.  When I asked front desk politely if there's a way to get it waived somehow, she said absolutely not.  Well, not so true.  She never mentioned it could be free by joining their loyalty program!

From the ability to earn free nights to complimentary Wi-Fi, pressing service and morning beverage, there's real value in every stay. It's our way of taking care of you even more and keeping the little things from adding up. Membership is complimentary.

 

It had nice interior and exterior with decent view of the uphill street (Peel?) toward Mount Royal from the room, but no such hotel in this class should charge for Wifi.  Even 2 computers at the business center weren't free to use except to bring boarding passes.
