melC Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Based on a previous post, tried to get a 4* hotel for $77 in Copenhagen. It was turned down but allowed me to add $22. Got a 4* hotel (Marriott) for $99.00 per night. We are going 5/25/06 - 5/27/06. Rooms at this hotel are currently listed for $300. Great Savings!
thereuare Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Congratulations on your win... a great deal indeed! For future bids, be aware that the counter-offers can almost always be undercut, as per this thread: PRICELINE SUGGESTS PRICE TO PAYEnjoy your stay. mats Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Good deal. I was one of the two that got rooms for $77 at Sofitel, but I bid for January. May is a much more attractive month. So no wonder you had to go up a bit. Maybe you could have gotten it a little less, perhaps as low as $85, but I'd say $99 is a good price. No breakfast though...Hotels in Copenhagen are expensive, except for some hotels in the sleazy sex district behind the railwaystation. Much better than a few years ago, but still not good. Have a nice stay. It is a really nice time of year to visit.
Koobs Posted February 6, 2006 Report Posted February 6, 2006 Have been trying to get a deal for a 4* in Copenhagen for the last couple of weeks, for the night of February 24th. Started with 75$, but was rejected for this price. Was also offered to raise the price by 22$, but had some time so thought we'd try again. Tried again for 77$, then 80$, then 83$. Maybe something is going on this weekend? But we've decided to just get something cheaper on a website other than priceline. Not a big deal, but it would have been nice to stay for those prices at a nice hotel (with our own bath).
Rogr23 Posted February 13, 2006 Report Posted February 13, 2006 Date Feb 13th. We got Marriott in Copenhagen for $93 for one night, 15th May 2006. This site is invaluable. We are very happy bunnies! :) Roger
AEmgee Posted February 14, 2006 Report Posted February 14, 2006 Great wins!I hope I'm just bidding too early because I've been trying >$100 bids for a 4* during my dates (June 2-4 and June 14-16) in Copenhagen without even a hint of a counteroffer!"Retail" nightly prices (it doesn't look promising!):Marriott Copenhagen: 1445DKK = $230.69 (June 2-4) and unavailable (June 14-16)Le Meridien The Palace Hotel: 2640DKK = (June 2-4) and unavailable (June 14-16)Sofitel Copenhagen Plaza: unavailable (June 2-4) and unavailable (June 14-16)I supposed the Marriott rate is not too bad considering it includes deluxe water view room, 3-course dinner one night, daily full buffet breakfast for two, one box of chocolates, and the deadly 25% VAT...
Rogr23 Posted April 2, 2006 Report Posted April 2, 2006 Further to my previous message, due to the cancellation of our cruise, we decided to extend our stay in Copenhagen. I offered $86 per night 4 star for 5/12/06 to 5/15/06 to add on to our booking of $93 for Marriott on night of 05/15/06.We were very lucky and got the Marriott again and won't have to move between hotels. Brilliant. :)
