ddob Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 Hi, Having trouble trying to work out how to use PRICELINE or HOTWIRE or similar discount accommodation sites for 2 beds in one room. i.e. not sharing a bed. Staying July 13-19, looking anywhere reasonable in Manhattan, 3 or 4 star clean hotel, around $200 USD a night. Free Internet. Any tips to secure a best value room with the above conditions? Thanks
yellowdog Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please note that PRICELINE and PRICELINE EXPRESS only guarantees double occupancy, after that is at the discretion of the hotel. While you can call the hotel you win and request a room with two beds, the hotel may not be able, or willing, to honor your request. Whether they will/can or not depends upon a LOT of different factors, including what is available at the time of your check-in, how many rooms with two beds are offered at the hotel and what they need to accommodate other guests for your dates, hotel policy etc. HOTWIRE guarantees sleeping accommodations for everyone you include in your search (up to 4 guests)... this often means two beds in the room, but the second 'bed' could be a pullout sofabed, rollaway brought into the room, etc. The options you have is to look for a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal that got a bed choice option so you can choose two beds or search HOTWIRE for 3 adults or 2 adutls + 1 child etc. Let us know your thoughts and we'll go from there. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Yellowdog.
AaronJB Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 I'll also note that free internet is not going to be available at many hotels and will definitely limit your search options. If you want to try to search for hotels with free internet, you would search for listings with free internet as an amenity on PRICELINE EXPRESS and HOTWIRE. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
thereuare Posted June 13, 2015 Report Posted June 13, 2015 I would forget about the Free Internet requirement for now as it will limit your options and not show you the complete offers available for your dates. For example, you may find your best deal to be a $175/nite hotel with Free Internet when there is a $150/nite without internet (but when adding in $10-$15/nite for internet would be cheaper than the $175 that included internet) It sounds like you are two people but don't want to share a bed? If so, searching HOTWIRE for 2adults/1child should guarantee separate sleeping accommodations, but note that the 2nd 'bed' could be a rollaway brought into the room or a pullout sofabed. Using this search criteria i see a 3.5* hotel in the East Village-Lower East Side zone for $155/nite and 100% recommended (and includes free internet) with: Free Internet Fitness Business Hi-Speed Internet ... best guess for this one would be the Holiday Inn NYC - Lower East Side (which if correct also have an excellent 4.5/5.0 TA rating) Would this work for your needs? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
