Schakal Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Hi, I have been watching this Board for some times now, and agreed with Thereuare, to not bid for Strip Hotels at PL, as long as the Westin was part of the 4 * Hotels on the StripBut any of these Hotel would fit for me, as long as it is on the Strip (even though I am aware, that it could happen, that a new hotel would be introduced to PL in the Strip Vicinity). 4* Aladdin4* Luxor4* MGM Grand4* NYNY4* Treasure Island Dates are Sun 9/17/06 to Wed 9/20/06. I will be needing TWO Rooms, as we are a party of four.I know the Dates are still quite far off from now, but I really don't have any idea, when I should be starting to bid for those dates.I am willing to pay as high as 80 $ a night, because from then on, I would rather get a room at the Venetian and go for the 99 $ shot. My back-up Plan would be to book at the Stratosphere, which I can book at my travel agency here in Europe for about 50 $ including taxes without the "Resort Fee". I am not able to cancel, once I book, but I am quite sure, I will be able to book until the end of July.Anyone gut any suggestions, when to bid, and if my maximum is even close to realistic? Or am I way to far from the dates right now?
thereuare Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 Unless this turns out to be peak dates, which they don't appear to be, I wouldn't be booking a non-cancellable reservation for this stay until May/June. However, i would book a cancellable reservation just to make sure rates didn't jump upwards on me for some reason.Since you seem fine with the Stratosphere, how about the Sahara which is available for $44/nite and fully cancellable up until 3 days before your check-in date. Schakal Posted January 11, 2006 Author Report Posted January 11, 2006 Thereuare,Thanks for answering so quick. That sounds good to me and I will be reserving two rooms at the Strat for now. So you recommend looking into PL like when? April, May? Is my limit anywhere realistic?
thereuare Posted January 11, 2006 Report Posted January 11, 2006 That sounds good to me and I will be reserving two rooms at the Strat for nowDo you mean the Sahara?Once you have a back-up, i'd begin seriously looking end of May/mid-June... getting more serious in July.I think your prices are realistic, and if not, probably success at just a bit more... but Vegas is a tough market where rates change fast, why it is important to have a back-up hotel locked in at benign rates while you wait for your date to draw closer.
