katrinabrain Posted June 7, 2015 Report Posted June 7, 2015 Please help identify a 4* in River North for $159 (July 6-9): Free InternetBoutiqueSmoke Free roomsFitness centerRestaurant(s)Spa services 95% recommend Sounds like the Godfrey or the Felix from what I can tell, but I'm new at this. I worry about the reviews of the Felix saying the rooms are so cramped as I'm traveling with my spouse and two teen boys. What hotel do you think this might be? Thanks.
AaronJB Posted June 8, 2015 Report Posted June 8, 2015 If you click on the listing, then click "book now", then "see all amenities', do you also see internet in addition to free internet? If so, the Godfrey has been seen with this amenity set previously so that would be my guess. I am very familiar with the area and have stayed at the Godfrey before in a suite. I have a few thoughts: 1. I really liked my stay at the Godfrey. Very nice, newer hotel and in a great location - I'm very familiar with the city, but really liked being so close to a lot of River North restaurants - tons of options within a very easy walk. I stayed in a suite via PRICELINE EXPRESS. The suites were not huge, but were moderately spacious with a medium-sized sitting area with couch and huge TV, leading to a separate bedroom with big TV and then a large bathroom. 2. I'd stay there again in a second, IF and only IF I was once again able to get a higher floor away from the bar on the fourth floor. There is a bar on the fourth floor that has a retractable roof and stays open late, playing music. There have been complaints about noise on review sites by people who have stayed in rooms near it. 3. On PRICELINE EXPRESS for your dates, there is a 4* in River North-NMA when I'm searching w/business, restaurant, free internet for $129. What you absolutely have to look for is when you click on the listing, that there are bed choices. One of the bed choices should be: King Bed + Sofabed - Suite - Free Wifi ($148) and another 1 King Bed + Sofabed - Suite - Free Wifi ($157). The amenities have been seen with the Godfrey, but the key aspect is the room descriptions. If you see those two room descriptions among the options, you can then select a suite for less than what you would be paying on HOTWIRE for a non-suite room. I'd go with a suite, but if you want a basic room w/2 queen beds, that's also an option ($138, so about $20 less than HOTWIRE and you could indicate 2 queen beds.) Please let me know if you have any questions before booking. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
