LoneStar
Ha! After stating above in the "priceline tips" forum that priceline is not cheaper on cars in 24 out of 25 rentals, I find one cheaper.Admittedly, it's miniscule, but it was cheaper. I had a Thrifty reservation for $15.28/day. With priceline's fee, I'll save less than $2/day. But I figure I might get a slightly nicer car from priceline (they use the "major brands," whose cars are usually slightly nicer and newer than Thrifty's).BTW, the reason I knew to bid this low (when you're already holding a $15 car reservation, priceline bidding isn't foremost on your mind) was because when I got my hotel bid accepted, they "offered" me a bunch of cars at fixed prices, including the economy for $12. Being a veteran priceline gamer, I started a new bid window and offered them $10. Rejected! So I filled in their form and booked the $12 rate. Link to comment
