Cliffbarnes Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Hello!First time user on this board and Priceline. Could use some advice in bidding from the experts around here :) I would prefer to keep below $140. I'm quite flexible with the zones but the ones i've looked most at are LES, Union square, Greenwich and chelsea. 3* is good, 2* would do also be fine depending on the hotel which i know is a bit of a gamble, but still. Another question that couldn't find an answer to and the wife keep bugging me about; Are there private bathrooms in all the hotels you bid on?
thereuare Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! We often don't recommend the lower rated hotels in NYC as the quality can very greatly from one hotel to the next (even within the same star rating)... while you could get a diamond in the rough that works perfectly for your needs, you could also get something that you loathe returning to your hotel each evening and which you had spent a little more. This is high-season in NYC and your budget may not be enough for a 3* hotel... but probably will be enough for a 2*/2.5* property. HOWEVER, for just a little more than your budget (~$165/nite) can likely get a 4* hotel. Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there. Cliffbarnes Posted May 23, 2015 Author Report Posted May 23, 2015 Hi and thanks for the reply! I can do $165, obviously less is prefered :) It is within our budget however so i'll go with your advice.
thereuare Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 So to confirm... you first want to try for a 4* up to $165? If so, please confirm which zone(s) you're willing to accept and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Cliffbarnes Posted May 23, 2015 Author Report Posted May 23, 2015 I will start bidding using the guide shortly, thanks! I have one more question, sorry if it is in the wrong section. I found a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal in LES for $138/night with the following amenities:8+ rating 2* Free WIFI Free Breakfast Pets allowed. I did some research and came up with Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge. Do you think that would be correct? Thanks again.
thereuare Posted May 23, 2015 Report Posted May 23, 2015 I would agree that the best guess for the 2* PRICELINE EXPRESS would be the Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge. Cliffbarnes Posted May 24, 2015 Author Report Posted May 24, 2015 I bid up $160 but no luck, so I decided to take the priceline express deal instead. I feel I got a good deal at $138 for Comfort Inn Manhattan Bridge after seeing the reviews and for the location. Thanks for all the help, I will certainly use this board and Priceline again!
