nets Posted January 8, 2006 Report Posted January 8, 2006 wow at long last i am here,After digesting all the information my head is a bit fuzzy. I am looking for guidance on booking a 4* hotel for 6 nights from the 10th November in Times Square area. Very grateful for all responses.
KatiesMom Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 What are your preferred neighborhoods and budget, midtown east, midtown west...?
thenewbie Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Welcome! In order for us to assist you, we're going to need some information about your trip.Unfortunately, times square is not a priceline area. Please take a look at the Priceline map and let us know which areas you would be willing to stay in. Typically, MTE MTW and UM-CPS are the areas that "tourists" select as NYC has ample public transportation. We will need to know what is the most you would like to spend per night. With this information, we can help suggest a bidding strategy for your dates. You will want to take a look through Priceline Re-Bidding Explained to learn about rebidding. In NYC, there are 2 areas that do not have 4* hotels. Follow the directions in that thread to identify those two areas. Finally, just a reminder that Hotwire and Priceline are non-refundable and non-changeable so you want to be certain that you will be travelling to NYC for those dates.
nets Posted January 9, 2006 Author Report Posted January 9, 2006 Guys thanks for the responses. I was thinking of Midtown West & Upper Midtown CP. I was looking at paying $140 per night @ 6 nights. I will go off again and digest some more info (boy is this scary) lolVery grateful for help & advise.
thereuare Posted January 9, 2006 Report Posted January 9, 2006 Are you purposely avoiding the MTE zone, as this zone is usually acceptable with most out of town visitors (NYC is very compact, and mass transit plentiful, so most midtown locations work out well for getting around all of the city)... let us know and we'll advise on a strategy to follow. You may also want to read this tutorial i put togehter on the PRICELINE NYC ZONESPS- were you able to figure out your two re-bid zones? Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
nets Posted January 9, 2006 Author Report Posted January 9, 2006 Thereuare i would be happy to consider the MTE zone. Having great difficulty getting my head around all this,i thing i need to read quite a bit more. So sorry for taking your time as my trip is not until November i have quite a while to get to grips with this site. Fingers crossed that i do.I thank you again for your time.Nets
