Patrick.B Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 Hello,I am from Europe and going to Chicago for the marathon on October 11th.Searching for some nights around this date (of course 10th/11th and maybe additional) in the areas Millenium Park, North Michigan Avenue, McCormick Place and also Lincoln Park. Is it too early to bid for October?I know the time around the Marathon will be quite expensive (especially in this areas), but last year in New York the price was acceptable. The median retail prices for McCormick Place and Lincoln Park are not displayed. For NMA and Millenium Park, they rise quickly (102/115 * to 226/260 **) and then stay rather "constant" or even decrease (for example Millenium: 2,5* 399 and 4,5* 323; NMA: 2,5* 322 and 3,5* 290). So I would prefer to try the better categories with the lower retail prices. Cheapest offers on Priceline Express are $244 (4* McCormick Place) and $276 (4* NMA). Thanks for your help in advance!

Cheapest offers on Priceline Express are $244 (4* McCormick Place) and $276 (4* NMA).McCormick is not really centrally located, unless you're attending something at the convention center (i'm not sure where the marathon expo will be held, but even if at the convention center, probably better to stay someplace more centrally located and figure out how to get to the expo on the one day you will need to attend there) What is your expected budget for this trip? (per nite before fees/taxes)? What are the full dates of your stay and when will your dates be firm? AaronJB Posted May 4, 2015 Report Posted May 4, 2015 The start last year was in Millennium Park and I'm guessing it will be the same again this year. One issue: I'm not sure how long the marathon takes on average, but if you have check-out, you may not be done with the marathon until after check-out. The hotel can probably hold your bags until after, but you may want to do 11-13 versus 10-12. What would be your desired budget per night? This is traditionally one of the busiest periods of the year and I will note that the hotels closer to the start do fill up faster versus the hotels North of the river.
