sgoldsmith Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 I need help identifying the Hotwire options for a trip I'm planning to NYC in the Empire State Building zone: 4* Empire State Building $240 80% recommend 4 out of 5 on Trip Advisor FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access 4.5* Empire State Building $272 90% recommend 4.5 out of 5 on Trip Advisor FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access 5* Empire State Building $377 90% recommend 4.5 out of 5 on Trip Advisor FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Internet access For the 4.5*, does this have to be St. Giles - Tuscany? This is the only 4.5* hotel in the hotel list for this area and it's also listed in the "Book soon! The last person got the..." pop up. For the 5*, I assume this is Refinery Hotel as that's who the "Book soon! The last person got the..." pop up says was last booked and I can't imagine that Langham Place is this cheap (though it's the only 5* hotel on the hotel list for this area). Any help you can provide would be great - when I ultimately book, I will of course use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links provided!
AaronJB Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 4*-- Carlton or St Giles Court, likely the latter 4.5*-- Likely St Giles Tuscany 5*-- Not yet ID'd/reported to the board. Refinery? Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
sgoldsmith Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 Thanks for the reply! Any chance the 4* is Shelburne NYC (Affinia)?
AaronJB Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 The 4* amenity set has been reported to the board previously with the St Giles Court/Carlton, so either of those (and primarily the St Giles) remain my guess for this listing. The Affinia Shelburne has been reported previously with a somewhat different amenity set. You can see the listings reported to the board (along with the amenities previously reported with each) here: Hotwire Hotel List New York. Thank you for keeping us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. sgoldsmith Posted April 30, 2015 Author Report Posted April 30, 2015 I went with the 4.5* in Empire State Building (referenced in my original post) at $272 a night pre-tax and got the St. Giles - The Tuscany as expected. Excited about my trip to NY - thank you for the help!
