jamanatu Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Hi everyone.Im new to priceline and this site and was looking for a strategy to get a 4*+ hotel in Manhattan from May 10th through the 15th. Everything I have looked at is $300+ and would like to get closer to $150-$200 a night.Any suggestions?Im coming from California with my wife and a 1 year old. My sister goes to school at Columbia and I have never been to NY. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.thanks,Jason
thereuare Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Rates are somewhat high for these dates, but this how i would begin...I'm assuming that MTE, MTW, and UM/CPS zones would all be acceptable to you (if not post back as to which zones are acceptable... i'm assuming that you don't want to be too far from Columbia, but don't need to be in the immediate area either). If so, you have two re-bid zones available when bidding at the 4* level. If you're not familar with re-bidding i please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask any questions that you may have and/or comfirm your re-bid zones with the board before preceeding.Select 4* MTW...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* UM/CPS...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $125, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $130, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTE and MTW...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and UM/CPS...Bid $135, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $145, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Select 4* MTW and MTE and UM/CPS...Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone...Bid $160.The above may be a little low relative to rates for the above dates, but since you have plenty of time i would start low with the amounts posted.Any questions feel free to ask.
