IanS Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Hi,First time i plan on using priceline. Please help! I'm looking for a hotel in South Beach 4* dates: January 20-22 (2 nights)the most i want to pay is $125How should i bid on this? Thanks in advance!
thereuare Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding! When bidding for a 4* in this area you have 4 re-bid zones available, if you're not familiar with re-bidding please read re-bid explained and feel free to ask any questions you have and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. I don't think your chances are very good of landing a 4* below $125, but this is how i would proceed:Selelct 4* South Beach...Bid $65, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $80, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $90, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $100, if rejected close browser and re-access priceline however you did previously.Selelct 4* South Beach and re-bid zone4...Bid $110, if rejected add re-bid zone1...Bid $115, if rejected add re-bid zone2...Bid $120, if rejected add re-bid zone3...Bid $125.Any questions feel free to ask. Good Luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
IanS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 3.5-star hotel in South Beach dates: January 20-22, 2006Amenities:Boutique HotelNear BeachRestaurentHotwire price is $128 per room per nightRetail: $220.50You save: $92.50 tripadvisor 3.5 circles, over 20 reviews, last review September 05Anyone can help me?Thanks
IanS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 Thanks for your quick reply, unfortunately you were right and all my bids were rejected. I posted in the hotwire forum, I'm trying to Id a hotel. I thought I had it by the retail price showing up on Hotels.com but it seems the trip advisor rating is off . I thought it was the The Catalina Hotel & Beach Club but now i'm not sure. Any ideas?
thereuare Posted January 6, 2006 Report Posted January 6, 2006 Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. The 3.5* hotel you're seeing on Hotwire is a match for the Blue Moon, so that woudl be our best guess. Also check out QB and EasyClickTravel, both of which often have decent deals in this area. IanS Posted January 6, 2006 Author Report Posted January 6, 2006 Thanks again. I don't think it's a match for the Blue Moon, i don't think the blue moon has a restaurent and it has a pool which the hotwire listing didn't have. I'll keep searching!! This is tough!
thereuare Posted January 7, 2006 Report Posted January 7, 2006 Look at our Hotwire Hotel List for this area and you'll see that the Blue Moon has been reported with a Restaurant icon, and the Pool icon seems to come and go.I can't see tbe name of the hotel either so i can't say with certainty that it is indeed the Blue Moon, but i would be surprised if it wasn't.
