jessbee Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Hi there, I've been looking to book a hotel room in NYC. Will be there May 23-May 27, 2015. Need help identifying a hotel. This is the one I've been looking at, but I am also interested in 4+ stars (that I still need to research). The Hotwire info just changed (see note below), so I thought I would ask now rather than wait. My main goal is to get a decent/nice hotel for a bargain. I'm surprising my boyfriend for his birthday, so probably no best westerns, but a crown plaza (which was almost $300 if booked directly) would suffice too. My ideal budget is $200 a night, but I'm seeing that might be wishful thinking, especially with fees and such. 5 stars $235 a night • Free Internet • Pet friendly • Fitness center • Restaurant(s) • Business center Best guess on the hotel list is the Sofitel? But I have no idea what I’m doing. . . . OKAY, SO HOTWIRE NOW says: “Book soon! The last person got The Quin.” I think that's a pretty nice hotel, right?? Thoughts? THANKS!! -Jessica
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)If you click on the listing, then click "book now", then "see all amenities", do you see internet in addition to free internet? If so, this would likely be the Sofitel. The "last person won" is not Hot.wire giving away the underlying hotel, it's the last hotel that someone won in that zone in that star rating, which may or may not be the underlying hotel. jessbee Posted April 23, 2015 Author Report Posted April 23, 2015 Hi again. That makes sense. Under the regular Hotwire link (not easyview), it does not show "Internet access." But in the Easy view link, there is a seemingly similar listing ($234, one dollar less) that DOES have that additional amenity (which seems redundant). I'll definitely keep you posted!
jessbee Posted April 23, 2015 Author Report Posted April 23, 2015 It WAS the Sofitel! Thank you so much for your help. I loved having an idea of what to expect and being able to price compare. I saw this website in a few places and I love it! I'll post my winning bid in that post soon!Oh, and internet access showed up on confirmation, so there you go.-Jessica
