Uncle Taco Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Hello everybody, I am looking for a hotel in Amsterdam for the 3rd to 5th of June for me and my girlfriend. Please also keep in mind, that I am open for Priceline as well! What do you guys think of this: Area: Amsterdam South - Amstel Business Park areaCost: 85$ per nightTA: 4/5Rating: 100%Complimentary Free InternetAmenities Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business center With 100% satisfaction, should that be an instant book? Also, is the area nice and easyily connected to the center?Other option:Area: Rembrandtpark - Lelylaan Station areaCost: 89$ per night TA: 3.5/5Rating: 90% Thank you guys so much! :)
thereuare Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Please use the BiddingHelper.com EASY VIEW to ensure you're seeing the complete amenity set for the HOTWIRE offer(s)... and also include the star rating that HOTWIRE assigns the hotel. This is what i'm seeing for the 4* South property: Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet ... best guess for this one would be the Mercure Amsterdam City While this property does have a 100% recommendation from previous guests, there are only 10 reviews, so not that much information to go on. More importantly, it only has a 3.5/5.0 for location, which would be of concern to me for a short stay. You need to decide what is more important to you for this (and the other legs) of your trip... a very nice hotel vs. a central location. For the Rembrandtpark - Lelylaan Station property are there no amenities associated with this one? Uncle Taco Posted April 26, 2015 Author Report Posted April 26, 2015 Alright! I did. Concerning this case, I would prefer a nice hostel in an area close to the center. It must not be the best, nor should it be the worst! Area: Rembrandtpark - Lelylaan Station area4 StarCost: 89$ per nightTA: 3.5/5Rating: 90% FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Roll-in shower What do you guys think of that offer and that area? I am playing around with the priceline NYOP but didnt get anything much better yet.
thereuare Posted April 26, 2015 Report Posted April 26, 2015 A guess would be the Dutch Design Hotel Artemis. This zone is not exactly what i would consider to be 'close to the center'... i think you ideally want to be in the Canal Belt East, Canal Belt West, or Royal Palace zones; but these may be beyond your budget. Uncle Taco Posted April 27, 2015 Author Report Posted April 27, 2015 I think you are right with the Dutch Design Hotel Artemis. Since I check other websites on a daily basis as well, this time I found the best deal on groupon. One night for 60$. I think this was the best option for me, although it is not very close to the city center! So I assume this thread can be closed but I didnt win on HOTWIRE!
thereuare Posted April 27, 2015 Report Posted April 27, 2015 As i just posted in your other thread, it comes down to price vs. convenience and how you want to spend your vacation. When there is limited time in a city you want to ideally stay as convenient as possible, but if you're on a tight budget, sometimes you need to make trade-offs and stay further from the center than is ideal. Thanks for closing this thread. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
