Jhanrahan
My first time posting, and would really love your help. We are going to NYC from June 3 to June 10 and ouch, the prices are so high for hotels. We currently have the San Carlos booked but I can cancel, I think it may be too far away from times Square for our kids? Not sure, but checking out my options. I've done a hotwire search and this is the information I have. From June 3 to June 10th, $298 CAD per night.Amenities are: Business center Fitness center Internet access Pet friendly Restaurant(s) 3.5/5 Trip Advisor reviews80% Hotwire Customer Reviews. Any ideas on what this could be based on that information? Link to comment
AaronJB
Welcome to Betterbidding. :) Times Square is the most widely known/popular zone, but it's also usually the most expensive and most busy/hectic. Some of the other midtown zones (MTE, ESB and others) are frequently cheaper and still convenient. For the above listing:If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Link to comment
Jhanrahan
I can access the view you mention using the Bidding.Helper Tool, but it shows the prices in US Dollars. There are only 2 4* hotels that show up and I'm thinking this is the one: Here are the full amenities: : Pet friendly, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower Link to comment
thereuare
... it shows the prices in US Dollars. Please post to the board in US Dollars. You can see rates in US Dollars on the hotwire site by changing the drop down menu on the top right corner of their page. This keeps rates posted to the board consistent and not subject to future interpretation based upon currency fluctuations (ie- a $100CAD price today is a very different price than a $100CAD price two years ago) If you want to see the full amenities for any property (or if a property is not listed in the EASY VIEW tab) you can use the follow method(s): For future searches/bookings you can do the following to ensure you're seeing the complete list: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesFor the amenities for the HOTWIRE offer above, the Millennium Broadway Hotel would be the best guess for this one. Are you committed to only the Times Square zone or open to other areas? What is your maximum budget (per nite before taxes/fees in US Dollars) for this trip? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Jhanrahan
Ok, I'll be sure to post the cost in US if I book through Hot.wire. As for the locaton of the hotel, I'm definitely not stuck only on the Times Square Theatre District. But I'm not seeing much of a difference in the cost of hotels in other areas, so I figured we may as well be close to the action. :) Do NYC hotel prices typically get higher as you get closer to your date? Or will I see last minute deals? Do anyone have any recommendations for other hotels that are showing on HOTWIRE at the moment???? Link to comment
AaronJB
The action is really spread throughout the city. Whenever I've gone to NYC I find myself spending less and less time in TS. This is not a slow period of the year, so if you find a good deal, I'd consider taking it. Rates definitely do not always go down closer to the dates - this has been seen less and less in the years since 2008. What would be your desired max budget per night for this stay? thereuare
Ok, I'll be sure to post the cost in US if I book through HOTWIRE.When you post your win (using the 'ADD REPLY and REPORT WIN' button on the lower right corner of the page you will be given the option to change the default $USD current to $CAD and our backend systems will automatically convert the price to US Dollars and report it correctly in the topic title. HOWEVER, in your posts (when asking for hotel IDs) use US Dollars as it makes it easier for us to find the same hotel among the offers when we replicate your search. ... and please read your messages (which will remove the red box at the top of the page asking you to do the same and make the board easier to navigate) ;) What is your target budget for this trip (per nite before taxes/fees and in US Dollars). How many rooms/adults/children are you searching for? Jhanrahan
Of course we're trying to work on a budget.... always am. :) A reasonable price seems to be around $230 to $240 per night.... We are looking for 7 nights and have two children with us. Link to comment
