davidprim9
Trying to book a 4* in Asheville, NC (zone: Asheville, i.e. Downtown Asheville). There are 9 other Price.line zones in Asheville, and 8 of them do not go as high as 4*, so I had 9 chances to bid. Bid History: $155, $160, $165, $170, $175, $180, $185, $190, and $200 - all declined! The "median price for a 4* hotel in the selected areas is $220" and I see a PL express deal for $226 for a 4*. Should I just go for the Express deal? Thanks! Link to comment
AaronJB
If there's a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $226 and you've gone up to $200, there's still $205/$210/$215 to try. While not a significant savings over the express deal, it's something. Also, it seems to be the weekend nights that are the problem - 6/7-9 are significantly cheaper (there's a 4* in Central Asheville for $144 for those nights on Hot.wire.) davidprim9
Bid History: Yesterday - $155, $160, $165, $170, $175, $180, $185, $190, and $200 rejected; Today - $200, $205, $210, $215, and $220 rejected, accepted $225 (FYI Priceline express showed a 4* for $227 for the same dates.) Subtotal ($225 x 4) = $900Taxes and Fees = $160.28Total = $1060.28 Link to comment

Unfortunately I had to get the expensive weekend nights, as I will be in Asheville for their half marathon that Saturday. Thanks for the advice! Link to comment
