amytrax Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 I was wondering if someone could help me decide which of these is best based on the amenities and guesses as to which hotel it is. We will be going for one night May 21st. We prefer to be in the heart of it all since we'll be there a short time. We have 3 adults in the room. MMA River North 4.5* $149 FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Indoor pool(s), Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower MMA River North 4.5* $166 FULL AMENITIES: Boutique hotel, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access MMA Water Tower 4.5* $175 FULL AMENITIES: Free Internet, Indoor pool(s), Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access Downtown MP GP 4.5* $170 FULL AMENITIES: Pet friendly, Smoke-free rooms, Fitness center, Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Welcome to Betterbidding. The first (4.5 - Mag Mile-RN w/pool) would likely be the Intercontinental. 4.5* Mag Mile-RN $166. The Palomar has been seen with this amenity set previously, so that would be my guess. 4.5* Mag Mile N-WT Likely Hyatt on St Clair 4.5* Downtown-MP-GP. Likely the Blackstone Renaissance. If you want to be centrally located, the Blackstone would be out. The potential Hyatt would not be as good a value as the RN options. The Intercontinental is in a terrific location on Michigan Ave - that hotel has a fascinating history, but is a huge, convention-oriented property. Some rooms also face right into the next door building. Personally, I'd go with the potential Palomar out of these options. If the Palomar, tremendous location square in the middle of River North - easy walk to tons of restaurants, plus the hotel's own restaurant is actually very good. amytrax Posted April 23, 2015 Author Report Posted April 23, 2015 Thanks so much!! I'll let you know what we go with and I'll use the links! Do you know if I should just book now or wait a few days and watch the rates?
thereuare Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move higher, between now and your trip. However, if you're happy with the hotel and rate for any of the above i would suggest booking now, since the other 'risk' (besides the price going up/down is that the hotel you want above disappears entirely and leaves you with something you don't like as much). Also, because you're searching for triple occupancy it limits the number of options since not all hotels will offer triple occupancy rooms to HOTWIRE. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted April 23, 2015 Report Posted April 23, 2015 You can use our free alert service, RateDrop.com to get alerts on price declines. That said, this is not a slow period and you run the risk of prices going higher and/or something nice (if the above is the Palomar, that's a very nice property that is rarely reported to the board as a win) disappearing.
