i_love_vacations Posted April 18, 2015 Report Posted April 18, 2015 So never been to Dubai so definitely need help figuring out the best place to stay. Unfortunately it wasn't until after I booked the flight that I realized that the weather there becomes unbearable during the time period I'm going.I hope to do anything and everything I can. Go to beaches, malls, visit the Burj Khalifa, camel dessert safari, etc. so not sure where I should be staying.I was looking at PRICELINE and noted the following options:A standard rate hotel: Grand Excelsior in Sharjah for $34/night - PRICELINE doesn't indicate this, but other websites indicate that a 10% city tax and another 10% tax are not included in the price...is there anyway to know for sure?Under Express Deals:1) 5* Jumeirah Beach - Dubai Marina Area Hotel - Rated 8 or higher - $71 USD /nightIndoor or Outdoor PoolRestaurantFitness CenterFree ParkingFree InternetBusiness Center2) Al Barsha - Mall of Emirates - Rated 8 or higher - $60 USD /nightIndoor or Outdoor PoolRestaurantFitness CenterFree ParkingFree InternetBusiness CenterIdeally, I know I'd love a hotel on Palm Jumeriah Island, but looks like that would be out of our budget - Best 5 star deal for that I could find was $149 USD on HOTWIRE:Free parking, Free Internet, Beachfront hotel, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Wheelchair accessibleIs the hotwire on Palm Island most likely the Le Meridian? If so I can get a better/same deal on that through Expedia at the moment...Also, did Priceline stop doing bonus cash/Coupons? Haven't seen them offer one in ages!

i_love_vacations Posted April 25, 2015 Author Report Posted April 25, 2015 No worries, my preference would be to stay at a beachfront property and possibly on Jumeirah, but my budget is around the $70 USD mark per room (need 2 rooms), or I'd be happy to go $140 assuming its a suite which would have at least 3 beds (some of the hotel properties on Jumeirah island seem to have this), but I understand its impossible to tell on PRICELINE, which is why I was leaning towards that 5 star hotel on Jumeirah Beach for $71 per night, but want to try to guess what it would be before hand so I know what to expect.
thereuare Posted April 25, 2015 Report Posted April 25, 2015 ...I was leaning towards that 5 star hotel on Jumeirah Beach for $71 per nightThe Bonnington Jumeirah Lakes Towers would be my best guess for this one.
