I'd suggest asking for a high floor facing towards the city. While lake view is an upgrade, if you can get a high floor looking the other way you may get a decent view of the surrounding area.

 

Nearby Navy Pier is being worked on in a (needed) attempt to modernize/update it - a few things were done when I visited last weekend, but definitely nothing that would change my recommendation that time is better spent elsewhere.
