Hotwire Hotel: Tampa Hotel and Car Reservations

We have a late night arrival in Tampa 2 days before we sail out on a cruise.  Any advice on how/where to book a hotel and a car so that we can smoothly transition to the port on the day of our departure?

What are the actual dates that you need a hotel for? Are you looking to book a package of Hotel and Car Rental together thru a company like Expedia... or are you looking to know which zone(s) you should be searching?

If you're looking for a package i would search Expedia (please use this link for any searches/purchases) but often you can do better by using PRICELINE / HOTWIRE to book both the car rental and hotel separately.

First search Expedia to see the cost of a combined package... then use our BiddingHelper.com to search for a car and see rates, then change the radio button to search for hotels; does the combined cost of two separate 'opaque' purchases cost more/less than a package thru Expedia?
