I just posted this in the wrong place. I think it belongs here. Sorry for the confusion:

Hi there --

First time here. I've never used priceline before but have done a bunch of looking around before posting here. My wife and I are looking to go to Vegas on the weekend of February 23 to February 26. We'd like to use priceline for our airfare from Atlanta to Las Vegas and to get a 4 or 5 star hotel on the strip.

Here is what we've found so far. Best airline rate from ATL to LAS is $303.

Prices on hotel's varry considerably for Feb 23, 24, 25. For example:

Bellagio: 259, 399, 399

MGM: 160, 190, 250

Mirage: 159, 179, 259

Bally's: 129, 129, 149

I'm hoping to get some advice on how to bid for airfare and hotel. We will pay the $303 for air if we have to but obviously would like to pay less. As for hotel, if we were going to make a reservation right now we'd probably go with Bally's only because of price.

Thanks,

SDA

On Priceline there is no bidding for air + hotel packages, for instance, you can see right now that flying on the dates you provided you can stay at Bally's for $478/per person (a slight savings off of the above)

The problem with using Priceline for airfare separately, is that you don't know your flight times... you could get a late depature on the 23rd and an early flight out on the 26th... essentially turning your 4 day trip into a 2 day getaway.

Also, if you're looking for the best bang for your buck, it's often necessary to switch hotels from your midweek nites (Thursday) to your weekend nites (Friday and Saturday), but don't know if that is an option for your or not.

Let us know what you are/aren't willing to do and we'll try to help you get the best deal possible.

Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases

Thanks for the quick response. I see what you're talking about. Using priceline for airfare doesn't seem to be the way to go. We'd rather have more control over when we arrive and leave. As for hotels, we'd prefer to spend all all three nights in the same hotel rather then jump from one hotel to the other.

Thanks again for your help
