VS85 Posted April 5, 2015 Report Posted April 5, 2015 Looking for a 5* Vegas north strip hotel for 9/9-9/11. Did a Hotwire search and got a $160/nt rate which in within the range I wanted. There is a $95 rate which I believe is Trump because the amenities list includes smoke-free and pet-friendly. This leaves either Wynn/Encore or Venetian/Palazzo. I would be super happy with either, but am hoping to try to narrow this down a bit. There is also a $235/nt rate available which is out of my price range. The $160 rate has the following amenities: free parking, suite, casino, fitness center, pools, restaurant, Internet access, business center, golf nearby. The total with taxes and fees comes to $382.46, but the description doesn't state anything about the added resort fees which is what is tripping me up. Would this mean it could be a tower suite in Wynn/Encore as I know those rooms waive the resort fee??The $235 rate does state that there is $32.48 added resort fee, which I know is charged by all 4 of the remaining 5* star hotels on that part of the strip. Thanks for any guidance.
AaronJB Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 Welcome to Betterbidding. :) I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOT.WIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our Bidding.Helper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities (such as accessible amenities) then what you have listed above? Thank you for using the board's HOT.WIRE or PRICE.LINE links to start your purchases and searches.
VS85 Posted April 6, 2015 Author Report Posted April 6, 2015 Thanks, AaronJB! I used the tool that you linked to and got some more info as you indicated using the hotwire easyview tab: There is still the $95 rate, which I still believe to be the Trump because in addition to pet-friendly and smoke-free in the full amenities list, it also includes kitchenette. The $160/nt rate has the following listed under full amenities:Free parking, Suite, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Internet access, Golf nearby, Spa services, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower The $235/nt rate has the following listed under full amenities:Free parking, Free Internet, Resort, Suite, Casino, Fitness center, Pool(s), Restaurant(s), Business center, Self-service laundry, Internet access, Golf nearby, Tennis nearby, Spa services, Accessible for visually impaired, Accessible for hearing impaired, Accessible path of travel, In-room accessibility, Accessible bathroom, Accessible parking, Roll-in shower. Does that help to narrow down which hotel is the $160/nt rate one? I am getting different results using the regular hotwire tab rather than the easy view tab, which is why I'm getting confused. It shows a $212/nt hotel and a $244/nt hotel in addition to the $160/nt and the $95/nt one (which is now $97/nt). The rates keep changing as I search, it seems! Still no mention of a resort fee in the $160/nt hotel. The resort fee for the $212/nt and the $244/nt hotel are "approximately $25," according to the regular hotwire tab. Didn't think any of the 5-stars charged such a low resort fee. When I click "continue" on the $160/nt hotel from the easy tab page, the properties listed are the original rates I saw?? $95, $160, $235, and $239. Sorry for the long post. I'm just getting confused with all the different rates and tabs, and the whole resort fee thing is really throwing me off. Why is listed for some hotels but not others? I truly appreciate any guidance!
thereuare Posted April 6, 2015 Report Posted April 6, 2015 For future searches/bookings you can do the following to ensure you're seeing the complete list: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) if the hotel is not listed in the easy view... search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesBest guess for the $160/nite property above would be the Encore Las Vegas. HOTWIRE lists resort fees for most (but not all) hotels that have them. In Vegas i would assume that any 4*/5* hotel does have a resort fee. A few have been loosening the resort fee a bit and on some occasions have made the resort fee optional, but i would just consider this to be a bonus and not something to be expected.
