Itsbenone Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 Looking for a 3.5*+ with a nice river view of the arch on 4/3/15-4/4/15 with a budget of $80
thereuare Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 While you could likely get a 4* hotel in this zone for your dates within your budget (would you be willing to pay more for a 4* vs. a 3.5* OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay??)... you won't be able to guarantee a hotel or room with a view of the arch. (if available, you could request it with the hotel after you learn which hotel you received, but the hotel may not be willing, or able, to honor your request, or such rooms may come with an additional fee) Are you willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid... OR do you need to guarantee a view for this stay? Itsbenone Posted April 2, 2015 Author Report Posted April 2, 2015 I'm willing to pay more if I can be close to the river with a great view of the arch. I was wondering if it is possible to get a suite thru express deals
Itsbenone Posted April 2, 2015 Author Report Posted April 2, 2015 Looking for a 3.5*+ with a nice river view of the arch on 4/3/15-4/4/15 with a budget of $80. Willing to pay more for a great view. I'm also interested in finding reasonable prices for suites.
AaronJB Posted April 2, 2015 Report Posted April 2, 2015 If you look at the Express Deals side of the service, look for listings with "bed choice". Occasionally, you will see upgraded rooms as one of the options. If not, there is no way to select a view room or upgraded room via Price.line or Hot.wire. Do you see anything on HOTWIRE within your budget for your preferred zones? If you need any ID help so please run a new search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. Itsbenone Posted April 3, 2015 Author Report Posted April 3, 2015 I checked Hotwire and they have 5 total with 1 out of my budget, but I would be willing to pay it if I knew the hotel had the view.
yellowdog Posted April 3, 2015 Report Posted April 3, 2015 I don't think you're going to get the premium rooms automatically. But you can always phone and ask for a free/paid upgrade when you have booked the room. This is really up to the clerk when you arrive or phone. How do you want to proceed? AaronJB Posted April 3, 2015 Report Posted April 3, 2015 I checked Hotwire and they have 5 total with 1 out of my budget, but I would be willing to pay it if I knew the hotel had the view. There's no way to guarantee that. As Yellowdog noted, if you book through PRICELINE or HOTWIRE, you have to call the hotel and the hotel may say no to any such requests. They also may charge for an upgrade (usually the difference between an regular room and an upgrade room, but it certainly varies.) It can also depend on who you talk to. In other words, there are trade-offs and the need for flexibility with the discounted rates - if you really do want an upgrade, the only way to guarantee that is regular rate. Or are you seeing any listings on PRICELINE EXPRESS with "bed choice" and an upgraded room as one of the options when you click? If you bid on PRICELINE for a 4* (for example) in the downtown area, you could wind up at any of the 4* hotels in the zone. With HOTWIRE, you can often make an educated guess as to which hotels are showing, but things can change at any time so there's no guarantees.
