Hi,

My girlfriend and I would like a bidding strategy to get a good price on a 4* hotel in the Fisherman Wharf area of San Francisco. We will be staying 2 nights - September 26 & 27.

I get the impression that prices may be higher than average at this time.

Fisherman Wharf is 1st choice then Union Square East.

Thanks heaps for your help :)

Hi! Thanks for your response and useful info about re-bidding.

We have a budget of $150-$225 per night.

Priceline's express deals for these nights in Fisherman Wharf are:

3* = $294

3 1/2* = $291

4* is $337

Thank you for your fast reply.

Unfortunately, these dates in general seem quite expensive in FW, but interestingly, other core areas don't seem as bad. Given the rates I'm seeing, I don't think $225 is going to be likely for FW for these dates (although you can certainly try in the hopes that something accepts), but I'm seeing much more reasonable rates in USE/USW, including some options on Hot.wire within your budget in those areas. Would those areas be acceptable?

Thanks for your help. The high prices may be related to the Chinese New Year holiday period. My bid of $177 for 3 and 1/2* in Fisherman Wharf was just rejected.

So I will now focus on USE/USW:

How much for USE/USW 3 and 1/2* for 1 night on September 26th?

It's really hard to give an estimate but a guess for USE would be $170-200 and for USW $150-170

If you let us know your maximum bid for this stay we would be happy to help you a bidding strategy.

Keep us updated and/or let us know how you'd like to proceed.
