AndrewOAz Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 Trying to identify this 5* hotel and whether it is the Hotel Okura or perhaps the Marriott or something else? What is throwing me is the Pet Friendly, yet the 95% seems to indicate the Okura. Listed amenities are: Complimentary Free InternetAmenities Pet friendly Smoke-free rooms Fitness center Restaurant(s) Business centerAccessibility Accessible for visually impaired Accessible for hearing impaired Thanks again for all you do - Your help is appreciated. :)
yellowdog Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 I believe there may have been more amenities than you listed in your post. HOTWIRE has a new interface which is not currently showing the complete set of amenities at the usual point of the search process. Please run a new search using our BiddingHelper.com tool at the top of this page. Once the search is completed, use the EASY VIEW TAB and click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing to view the complete set of amenities. This is what I see when replicating your search,Free InternetPet FriendlySmoke FreeFitnessRestaurantBusinessHi-Speed InternetBlind AccessibleDeaf AccessibleTravel AccessibleRoom AccessibleBathroom AccessibleHandicapped ParkingRoll-in Shower I don't believe that we're looking at the Hotel Okura. A guess would be that the Hilton is upgraded since the last time it was reported to the board. Keep us updated on your progress and let us know what you ultimately decide or if we can be of further help. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Yellowdog.
AndrewOAz Posted March 23, 2015 Author Report Posted March 23, 2015 Thank you and that confirms my fears it is not the Okura. Given we are staying there the next night, i only wanted to try this if it was obvious the Okura was it. The part that still seems odd to me that the Okura is the only one in this area with 95% approval ratings, yet, unless they have added pets being okay, can't be them. Thanks again.
yellowdog Posted March 23, 2015 Report Posted March 23, 2015 OK, we'll keep this thread open until we know what you want do later on. But please remember to update the tread with what you ultimately decide. AndrewOAz Posted March 31, 2015 Author Report Posted March 31, 2015 Wanted to close this thread with the update that as we searched with Bidding.Helper and the Price.line/HOTWIRE links, we ended up with an anomaly and jumped on it. I had been bidding for 5* and had even gone up to $200, but everything was priced at $280++ the last few days for our dates. Out of the blue, the 5* Hilton was listed at $195/nt so we jumped on it. This is one of the busiest weekends of the year in Amsterdam and it appears rooms are almost impossible to find and I notice the prices getting ridiculous (upwards of $350-500/nt), so we feel fortunate. I was even almost ready to just take an inferior hotel and almost the same identical rate. I could have tried some more bids, but very happy at this price and know exactly what I was getting. Thanks again for the help.
thereuare Posted March 31, 2015 Report Posted March 31, 2015 Congratulations on your success! Glad to see this hotel and rate appeared for your dates and you were able to take advantage of it! For the future note that our RateDrop service can help you monitor rates as well... if you signed up for an alert with this hotel for your dates, it would have sent you an email letting you know that the price had dropped; just one more tool to use to help get the best deals and make your travel searches a bit easier. Thanks for using the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board. Have a great trip! Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
