Priceline Hotel: Bid assist request 4* or 5* strip 2/2-2/7

I've already made the airplane reservations. Got a good deal on a seat sale. But I sure could use some help with the hotel front. I'd like to stay on the strip where the action is and would love to have a nice place to stay. I work hard and would like to spoil myself, but not break the bank. A friend recommended I try this forum. It looks great. About what should I try to bid for a 4 or 5 star hotel on the strip? Would $100 be enough? Thanks.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

$100 will not likely be enough for this complete stay. Rates in Vegas vary greatly from midweek to weekend, given this stay is Thusday to Tuesday, are you willing to SPLIT YOUR PRICELINE BID?

If you do choose to split your bid, you'll likely save more money, but will also likely have to change hotels during your stay. If this is acceptable, how many times are you willing to change hotels?

Thanks for getting back to me. Sorry it took so long to say thanks. Our phones have been out for 6 days and I'm finally able to get back online. I don't mind changing once or twice if I have to. I guess the Weekend rates go way up.

We'll start with a broad stroke and then try to narrow it down based upon your feedback.

You could get your entire stay at the Luxor for $119/nite average (breakdown is: 85.37 164.63 176.83 91.47 75.61)

The Luxor is a 4*, but it's location is at the south of the strip, so many like to be more 'center strip'.

Based upon your preferences, you could then start to mix in other properties for the first nite of your stay, such as:

Aladdin for $72/nite

Excalibur for $73/nite

For the last two nite you could consider:

Excalibur for $73/nite

Aladdin for $96/nite

Monte Carlo for $104

All of the above are cancellable up until 3 days before your arrival date, so you could decide your best option(s) above and then try to beat specific nites by using Priceline/Hotwire or other sources.

Let us know your thoughts on the above, but i think you're in the 'general ballpark' of what these nites will cost you.

I think that the Excalibur at $73/night for the 3 nights would be fantastic. I could then stay somewhere else like the Stardust (only a 3 star I know) for the weekend, but that's $80 at most. I'll let you know how it goes. Thanks!!

I managed to book rooms at the Excalibur for Feb 2nd and a second reservation for the nights of Feb 5 and 6. The only nights I need now are Friday Feb 3rd and Saturday the 4th. I got the Feb. 2nd for $73 + taxes for a total of $79.76 and the Feb.5th + 6th for a total of $147.55 including taxes. Many thanks for all your help.

The Sahara is going for $125.61/night for the Friday and Saturday. I was hoping to keep things under $100/night. An alternative would be the Days Inn- a 3 star on the Freemont St. Experience. It's only going for $72 for each of those nights. Have you heard anything about this place?

I wouldn't stay at a Days Inn in Las Vegas (i haven't read any reviews... but why?!?!)... at leas the Sahara has some character and history to it!

Look at this as a complete stay and even at $125/nite, you're average nitely rate is less than $100/nite which is your goal. It will be tough to find any 'decent' place for under $100/nite on the weekends.

Travelocity"]Travelocity (and I usually don't recommend them) - but you can call the hotels for a price match and still have the reservation be cancellable) is showing the following

South Coast 125.45 average - 114.40 and 136.50 This is a new hotel

Also Circus Circus was listed at $134.95 on their website for both nights.

Hope this helps.
