westcoast Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Greetings all. What a great site. I have never used Priceline, and before I jump in, I would like any opions you might have. 9 posts down, "skelman" hit exactly what I want. Murray Hill East Suite Hotel149 East 39th StreetNew York, New York 10016Price: $90.00 x 6 nights + $99.34 = $639.34I plan to use Name Your Own Price, choose Mid Town South, 2*, $90.00. I looked on your sites list for Priceline Hotels in this area and range, and found Murray Hill East, and a Best Western by Javits Center. I realize this can change. Either would work @ this price, though Murray Hill East would be my first choice. What are my chances of hitting either one of these. Since I really don't want another area, I guess I will get just one try, and if unsuccesful @ 90.00, will have to wait 72 hours to try again. Thanks in advance, and I've enjoyed reading through the past posts.
thereuare Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 Welcome to BetterBidding!Rates are a little higher for your dates than the dates that skelman won, so can't say for certain if you'll have success at $90 or not. We don't see too much 2* bidding in NYC so there could always be other hotels in this area at the 2* levels. It is positive though that what is believe to be the Murray Hill Suites is available on Hotwire for your dates.Good Luck and let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. westcoast Posted January 3, 2006 Author Report Posted January 3, 2006 Although I origainally only wanted MTS, I went ahead and bid two other areas.Bid MTS 2* 90.00 - Received this reply: If your would like to raise you bid $22.00 and re-bid, you may do so w/o changing any other information. I did not.Added MTW 2* 90.00 - NothingAdded MTE 2* 90.00 - Nothing.I believe I read somewhere on this forum that there is not as many dollars to work with when trying for a 2* as there is for higher rated hotels, which would make sense. As I have 2 months left, guess I will try a few more times in the next 2 weeks. "It is positive though that what is believe to be the Murray Hill Suites is available on Hotwire for your dates."If you had a guess, what would be the description of this property on Hotwire?
