MickeyDad Posted January 2, 2006 Report Posted January 2, 2006 We are going to NY for our tenth anniversary. I wasn't all that comfortable until I read up on PriceLine here. Your info and strategy advice made me comfortable enough to try. We are very pleased with the price and hope the Grand Hyatt turns out like we expect. Thanks for your help!

As you can see, the savings can really be incredible! Was this your first bid in the zone?Enjoy your stay in NYC.PS- i almost alwasy recommend Ess-A-Bagel to anyone in this immediate area... it's a great and inexpensive breakfast stop as they have one of the best bagels in NYC, about 10 blocks away from your hotel at 51st St and Third Ave Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
MickeyDad Posted January 3, 2006 Author Report Posted January 3, 2006 We will certainly try the bagels! Thanks for the tip. I truly was nervous about bidding - not sure why but the unknown aspect of it troubled my wife and me. You know the old adage about "If it seems to good to be true.." Anyway, I lifted the bidding strategy you had recommended to ynt on 12-31-05 and modified it a little. If I was going with the unknown, I wanted a DEAL. I did the following: Selected 4* MTW and bid $100 - rejected Rebid adding MTE $100 - rejected Rebid adding UM/CPS $105 - accepted at the Grand Hyatt (MTE).Again, I could not/would not have done it without the info and advice you have here. Thanks for helping us save a significant amount of money!
