dilvala Posted December 30, 2005 Author Report Posted December 30, 2005 here is a little industry inside if i may.For example my best avaible rate is 40.00 at any brand name motel websitehotwire and priceline both get min of 25% off this rate could be higher depending on the manager input in the central res.so the 40.00 dollar room not becomes 30.00 for PL and HWPL/HW take this 30.00 rate and have to mark up some min % depending on their agreement says for pratcial purpose some where close to rate of the day.Lets says PL/HW decides to Charge you the customer 40.00 for the room they gone pay 30.00 for Makes $10.00Now ever notice that ur taxes and fees include a fee to hand your reservation typical 5-7 say $6There is also a mandotry charge for hotels called booking fee 4.95 if i remSo to summarize $40.00 room makes about 21 dollars from you and the motelmight be less if the fee part of is lessMake booking fee plus differene rate = $15.00 from motelFees from you = $6.00hope it helps someone.... some times you might be able to get the manger to overrid the rate for a motel if you are booking from Hotels.com there are always commision involved ANY WEBSITE
thereuare Posted December 30, 2005 Report Posted December 30, 2005 Welcome to BetterBidding!i manage a motel in atlanta and this weekend is crazy with Sugar Bowl , Peach Bowl and falcons gameSo are these rooms for your guests who you intend on 'walking'? :) Thank you for sharing your win with the board. We have a few other 'industry insiders' who post here regularly, and we appreciate you sharing your insight with us.The question that is asked here most frequently is: Do you purposely give Priceline and Hotwire guests (and those that book thru other 3rd party sites) the worst rooms?Enjoy your stay. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
dilvala Posted December 31, 2005 Author Report Posted December 31, 2005 not purposely.i think it plays more important when u have employees working for you that's when the problem arises.they think hey here comes a cheap person.but we in management know cheap person money is still money.one thing is for sure priceline or no priceline you get the same respect when calling to complain if you ever had a problem
