I have a conference 5/16-20 at Westin (909 N. Michigan) and I was able to get my government rate there for May 17-20. But 16th is all booked everywhere.  I am looking for a place in North Michigan Ave - River North just for one night.  The express deal yesterday has a 4 star at $255.  This morning there is 4 star at $268.

I have tried Name My Price since last night starting from 180, gradually increasing to 220 and coming down from 5 start to 3 star upscale.  No luck. Since this is the Nat Restaurant Convention as I found out from previous post, every place I called above 3 star is either all booked or above $400 a night.

Currently the express deal 4 star River North is at $268 (Free Internet, Pool, Restaurant, Business Center, Fitness Center).  It looks like the only 4 star that has a swimming pool is W or Hampton Inn. Can I safely assume this is W Hotel at Lakeshore? With 10% coupon on express deal, this comes down to $241.

I am weighing the option of increasing my price from $220 since the last post said at least over $200 for these days or taking the express deal now.  Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Please start by reading your messages (which will also remove the red box at the top of the page asking that you do the same).

Best guess for this PRICELINE EXPRESS offer would be the W Hotel Lakeshore.

It comes down to how much you want to try to target this specific hotel (based upon the quality, location, reviews, etc.) vs. willing to accept any 4* (or higher) hotel in the zone(s) you select.

If you decide to take the PRICELINE EXPRESS deal let us know how it goes... if you'd like to try bidding let us know your acceptable zone(s) and maximum bid, and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow.

Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.

Good luck and let us know how it goes or how we can be of further help.

Hot.wire has a 4* in the Loop for $229 w/Boutique, Restaurant, Fitness, Smoke Free, Business, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly.

This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board - a new amenity set for the Hard Rock would be a possibility, but it may be something else - that would be a cheaper option.

The W was revamped last year. It's a bit of a trek to the Westin from there, but can easily be done using back streets rather than walking to Michigan Ave. then up. Or you could walk along the lake.

Congrats on your success. :)

Awesome deal for this property, which couldn't be in a better location a block or two South of the river. Plus, housed in one of the city's more well-known architectural gems (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carbide_%26_Carbon_Building)

Thank you for letting us know about the change in amenity set for this HOTWIRE property so that we can update the site's Hotwire Hotel List.

Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches.

Enjoy your stay.
