Hotwire Hotel: jersey city

Welcome to BetterBidding!

Nobody can say if rates will come down, or move even higher, between now and your stay. This is peak season for NYC and this area gets a lot of 'overflow' traffic/demand... are you using this as a less expensive substitute vs. staying in Manhattan?

What is your desired star rating and target budget? (per nite before fees/taxes)

We are cruising out of Bayonne  but would like to see the city before so thought Jersey City would be convenient for both.  Would be happy with Hyatt, Westin, Doubletree or Courtyard but hoping to pay less than 150.00 per night. Another question, has anyone been successful getting more than 1 room?

Thanks

How many rooms/adults/children do you need?

Are you driving, flying, or arriving to the area by some other means? (if driving please indicate from which direction you'll be traveling... if flying/train/something else please indicate where you arrive)

One of your better options is actually staying directly in Manhattan, imo. As i just mentioned in another thread, the Nh Jolly Hotel Madison Towers is offered for your dates for $138/nite. It's from the nicest hotel in NYC, but if you're willing to put up with some minor issues should they go wrong in exchange for a very good price for this time of year, then their basic, clean accommodations, may work for your needs and also provide a better pre-cruise experience by staying directly in Manhattan. It's of lower quality than the hotels you listed above in your first post, but you're exchanging star level/quality for location.

If not, there currently isn't anything of real interest that i'm seeing within Jersey City. Secaucus (NJ) could be another area to consider down the road, less convenient than both Manhattan and Jersey City, but you could make ti work if you needed to.

If you don't like the idea of the NJ Jolly Madison, using RefundableRates.com i found the Hilton Newark Penn Station (confirm your dates on the landing page) for $155/nite that you can use as a back-up... the area surrounding the hotel is not that great, but it's connected to Newark Penn Station which can provide you easy access to Manhattan via the PATH train.

Let us know your thoughts and how you'd like to proceed and we'll take it from there.

Thank you for closing this thread with your decision.

I assume this was a regular rate purchase and not thru PRICELINE or HOTWIRE?

It would be appreciated if in the future you used our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases when PRICELINE / HOTWIRE don't work for your needs.
