Priceline Hotel: I want the Cosmo!

Hi All!

Just wondering if anyone has any good advice. Looking to book the Cosmo, but I'll be happy with any other 5* in that area as well.  Looking back at the past successful bids for the month of my travel dates, per the Priceline Hotel Maps provided, it seems people tend to book this when they go with South Strip area and successful bids in the past range from $76 - $97. I am seeking to travel 04/16/15-04/19/15. I planned to bid pretty low and start out at $76. Budget is ideally $150/night at most.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. There is one property currently listed on the Hotwire "Secret Hot Rate Hotel" page that was $330 (current asking rate on most sites for Cosmo) and is now $234. The amenities mention "Boutique Hotel" and "Free Parking" (I believe the other 5* properties in this Zone list Free Valet Parking).  No mention of pets allowed, which would have been helpful. Does anyone think the $234 Hot Rate will drop at Hotwire? Or should I just stick solely to Priceline and chance it there? Priceline Express also has a property that I suspect is the Cosmo for $220, as it is mentioned as Pet Friendly. Help! :)

Welcome to Betterbidding. :)

There is no way to bid for a particular hotel. I do see what appears to be the Cosmo for $234 on HOTWIRE. The issue with these dates at the 5* level on the Strip is that what appears to be the Trump is $102 on HOTWIRE and that could likely be had via bidding for less than $100.  All the other 5*'s are showing significantly higher rates and $150.

In terms of bidding, are you okay with a hotel without a casino?

Note that you can safely avoid the Trump (if you didn't want this property) by only bidding the Strip South zone... OR you could get what appears to be the Jet Luxury at the Vdara for $129/nite on HOTWIRE, but if bidding on PRICELINE for the Strip South zone i think you're wasting your time bidding $75 (and possibly even bidding under $125) given that current rates are $200+ for these dates.
