Property was:  NH Schiphol Airport  as a 3.5 star on Hotwire.  I've stayed here on a Priceline Express deal before.  Works and priced right.

Sorry to hear that the result was a surprise. Hot.wire doesn't tell what the underlying hotel is going to be, the message (when it appears) is the last hotel that someone won at that star rating in that zone (sometimes it is the underlying hotel, but definitely may be something else.)
