thereuare Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please post what your needs and budget are for this stay and we will try to help you find the best options for this stay. While we love to help, the above would take at about 30-45 minutes to research and would not allow us to help everyone who is assistance in a given day. AaronJB is extremely knowledgeable about this area so if you let us know your desired star rating, maximum budget, and what requirements you have for this stay, i'm sure that he can quickly look at the HOTWIRE and PRICELINE EXPRESS offers for these nites and easily whittle the 13 hotels above down to your best 3-4 options that meet your needs. Also, for the HOTWIRE properties, I believe there are more amenities for some of the properties then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. For future searches/bookings you can do the following to ensure you're seeing the complete list: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesPlease use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. AaronJB Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 Definitely let me know more about what you are looking for in terms of hotel, but also, which area would be more appealing for you. It's currently really, really (really, really, really) cold in Chicago. This is also one of the cheapest periods of the year. If you are going to be primarily North of the River, I'd really recommend staying North of the River. If it's going to be cold (and you're probably looking at somewhere in the 15-25 degree range), then I think convenience is something I'd really recommend as a priority. Again, definitely let me know what you are looking for and whether or not you need to be near a particular area and I'd be happy to offer suggestions. Also, let me know if you have any city questions. You can also see the Hot.wire hotels reported to the board here: Hotwire Hotel List Illinois and Price.line here: Priceline Hotel List. Itsbenone Posted February 19, 2015 Author Report Posted February 19, 2015 I was looking for the Hyatt Regency because of the location, but any 3.5* or better would be great. Thanks for the tips I will definitely use in the future.
thereuare Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 ... and what is your maximum budget per nite (before fees/taxes) for a 3.5* hotel? Are you willing to pay more for a 4* property and/or more specifically for the Hyatt, OR is the goal the least expensive 3.5* or better for this stay? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. AaronJB Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 I'm seeing a 4.5* in the Downtown-Millennium Park-Grant Park zone for $80 (you may see a slightly different price) w/Boutique, Restaurant, Pool, Indoor Pool, Fitness, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Laundry, Tennis, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Roll-in Shower. This would be a possible match for the Swissotel, which has been seen with this amenity set previously. If the Swiss, that's pretty much a few doors down (literally) from the Hyatt and a really nice property. Would this be of interest? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
Itsbenone Posted February 19, 2015 Author Report Posted February 19, 2015 Yes I'm looking for 3.5*(prefer 4*&^) My budget is $83, but location is the most important thing. I would really like a room with a river view.
AaronJB Posted February 19, 2015 Report Posted February 19, 2015 PRICELINE and HOTWIRE reservations are for standard rooms. River view is often an upgrade and while you can ask, the hotel can say no. The potential Swissotel mentioned above would be the only thing that I'm seeing along the river (and there are only a handful of hotels along the river in general.) The way the Swiss is, you may (emphasis on may) get a river view - I believe lake view is the paid upgrade. Again, you would still have to call and ask and there is a chance they'd say no, but I'd say you have a better chance at the Swiss than a number of the other hotels on the river. Please keep us updated with what you decide and let us know if you have additional questions. Itsbenone Posted February 20, 2015 Author Report Posted February 20, 2015 I chose your recommendation and it was the Swiss. Thanks for your help and the tips for the future.
AaronJB Posted February 20, 2015 Report Posted February 20, 2015 Congrats on your success. :)Excellent choice! Hope you are looking forward to your stay. I'll note Wildberry is a nice breakfast option a couple of minutes walk away (http://www.yelp.com/biz/wildberry-pancakes-and-cafe-chicago-2.) Let me know likes/dislikes and I'd be happy to offer other recommendations. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay.
Itsbenone Posted February 22, 2015 Author Report Posted February 22, 2015 Oh Wildberry is one of the reasons why I'm always looking in this area. Just had it this morning. The room is amazing and the view is ridiculously amazing. I get to see the river, lake, Millenium Park, and downtown from my room. Anybody who chooses the Swissotel please ask for a room with a view. They don't charge extra and its breathtaking day and night. This forum is awesome!!!
thereuare Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Glad to hear you're enjoying the weekend in Chicago... and thanks for the compliments on BetterBidding! :) Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
AaronJB Posted February 22, 2015 Report Posted February 22, 2015 Awesome! I was hoping that you'd get a river view, but to be able to get a view in multiple directions is terrific! Glad you're enjoying your stay at this property and hope you're having fun in the city.
