johnmel3 Posted February 14, 2015 Report Posted February 14, 2015 Very excited about this win. I've been stalking a 4* or higher in Maui for weeks under $300, and was coming up dry. My preference was Ka'anapali, but I'd take Wailea-Makena. I was starting my bidding on Priceline @ $226, and going up in $15 increments using free rebids until I got to $276. No luck. I was also targeting a 3.5* hotel in Ka'anapali starting at 176 and going up to 226 with free rebids - no luck (targeting Royal Lahaina). Then, LastMinuteTravel had a deal where they didn't reveal the name, but it was a 4* in Makena for $228, and from the TripAdvisor reviews I knew it was Makena Beach and Golf Resort. I wanted to hold out though for even a better deal. Finally, yesterday, 9 days before my trip, Priceline Express had a $214 deal for Wailea-Makena, I clicked on the link, and it auto-reduced the price to $201. Nice!
