iherald Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 I'm looking to go to NYC for a long weekend. I don't have a preference for where I'm staying, though it should be Manhattan. I'd like to stay under $250 a night for a 4.5 or above hotel, is that possible? I looked into the Calendar of Wins, but nothing comes up for that time period which seems strange. I appreciate any and all help provided!!
iherald Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 Because I've never used Priceline I'd love any help too on a strategy I should use.
thereuare Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Welcome to BetterBidding! To avoid any confusion, please list, by PRICELINE name, the zones you're willing to accept and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. While i think a 4.5* at $250 or under in midtown may be elusive, i do think you can be successful if you are willing to accept the Downtown-Financial zone and include it in your bidding. Let us know your acceptable zones and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
iherald Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 Let us know your acceptable zones and we will suggest a strategy for you to follow. I'm fine with the Financial District. I'm actually fine with any district within Manhattan. Central Park SouthChelsea AreaDowntown - Financial DEmpire State BuildingHell's KitchenLower East SideMadison Square GardenMidtown EastMidtown WestSoHo - TribecaTimes Square - TheatreUnion Square - East VillageUpper East SideUpper West Side I also saw on Priceline Express a 4 star hotel in the Madison Square Garden - Convention Area Hotel for $160. It says you can bring pets, it has a resturant and business centre and a fitness centre. Any idea what that might be? Thanks again for all your help!
AaronJB Posted February 13, 2015 Report Posted February 13, 2015 I also saw on Priceline Express a 4 star hotel in the Madison Square Garden - Convention Area Hotel for $160. It says you can bring pets, it has a resturant and business centre and a fitness centre. Any idea what that might be? These amenities are fairly common, but this amenity set has been seen with the Wyndham New Yorker previously, so that would be my guess. iherald Posted February 15, 2015 Author Report Posted February 15, 2015 awesome! I followed the instructions, and saw a PRICELINE EXPRESS deal for $161 for a 4.5 in the financial district. So looking at your list I saw that was the W downtown. I went to Price.line and started bidding at $130. At $150 it was accepted. Thanks for all your help!!
