This would be a likely match for the Westin.

 

The SLS is a newer property - it used to be the Sahara, but underwent a significant renovation.

 

Hotels are understandably not going to be everyone's cup-of-tea and opinions vary. Looking at the potential properties, which would be best for your travel plans/needs? The SLS is half the price of the Venetian/Palazzo, but perhaps you are looking for more in the way of amenities that a 5* would offer?

My guess for the 4* Center Strip property would be the Westin Casuarina.

The SLS is a fair bit north and not really considered to be on the 'main' part of the strip.

If you've never been to Las Vegas and/or if your budget allows, i'd take the Venetian or Palazzo... it's a true 5* experience, imo.
