ajay2583 Posted February 11, 2015 Report Posted February 11, 2015 Hello all! I am traveling to New Orleans with one other person from 3/8/- 3/12, and I'm having a bit of trouble winning a bid. I'm looking to stay in either the French Quarter, Downtown, Convention Center, or the Garden District, basically anywhere close to the action. I have no real preference between these areas. I'm hoping to pay no more than $80 a night, however if I can book today and use the coupon (!) I could go up to $90. Like most I'd prefer a 4* if at all possible, and I've seen some great rates in March, but I could do a 3.5. If I must a 3* is doable as well. The amenities aren't really important to me, I'm just looking for a good deal in one of those four areas. Just doing some research myself, I couldn't find any events going on during the time we want to go, so I'm not sure if they're gearing up for St. Patrick's day or what. Any advise is greatly appreciated!
AaronJB Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Welcome to Betterbidding. :)Unfortunately, rates are noticeably higher for these dates. Based on the rates I'm seeing you're likely looking at more towards the $120-130 range for a win. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases.
ajay2583 Posted February 12, 2015 Author Report Posted February 12, 2015 Saw that the price for the Express Deal had gone down to $93. Figured I'd give it a shot and tried $85 the first time, and I won! Now I'm kicking myself in the butt, I wonder if I could've gotten it for less, lol.
AaronJB Posted February 12, 2015 Report Posted February 12, 2015 Congrats on your success. :)Still a pretty terrific deal for New Orleans. Hope you are looking forward to your stay. Thank you for sharing your win and please use the site's PRICELINE or HOTWIRE links to start your purchases and searches. Enjoy your stay.
