muscat Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 Not a happy camper about this one.... It was posted as a 4*, but I ended up with a 3.5* for the price of a four stars. BE CAREFUL: what you think you are bidding on is not what you end up getting. Has anyone else encountered this problem before ?
muscat Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Posted January 20, 2015 I just recently purchased a 4* hotel (or what I thought would be a 4*) on hotwire. After paying and finding out the name of the mystery hotel, I went on its website, only to find out that it was not a 4*, but a 3.5*. I was disappointed because if I wanted a 3.5*, I would have purchased a hotel in that category. I feel ripped off. In my view, when Hotwire sells a 4*, you should be buying a 4*, not a lower category. Has anyone else encountered this problem before ?
AaronJB Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 Welcome to Betterbidding. Sorry to hear that you're disappointed in the result. Hopefully the hotel will exceed expectations. It's not unusual for a hotel to show up as different star ratings on different services. A hotel may be three different star ratings on three different services, it's a matter of how they evaluate a specific property. Can you confirm the full list of amenities that were showing with this listing? This information is available under the trip information in your Hot.wire account (click "My Account" in the upper corner of Hot.wire.) Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
