JK_47 Posted January 18, 2015 Report Posted January 18, 2015 There are 2 all-inclusive options for my dates. One is $458 (5*, near beach) per night the other is $602 (4.5* with casino). I checked the list, but there's not much history for Montego Bay. Any help will be appreciated identifying these properties.
AaronJB Posted January 19, 2015 Report Posted January 19, 2015 Please provide the full list of amenities (including any accessible amenities) with each listing and we would be happy to take a look and try to ID the listings. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

thereuare Posted January 20, 2015 Report Posted January 20, 2015 I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to each of these listings, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 5 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Near Beach Food and Beverages Premium Beverages Water Sports Shuttle Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Tennis Spa ... this property has not yet been reported to the board, but a guess would be the Hyatt Zilara Rose Hall. For the 4.5 property this is the amenity set i'm seeing: Free Parking Complimentary Breakfast Resort Beachfront Casino Food and Beverages Premium Beverages ala Carte Evening Entertainment Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Laundry Hi-Speed Internet Tennis Spa Wheelchair Accessible ... my guess here would be the Secrets St. James Montego Bay. Since this an extended stay you could see if this same property is offered for the first (or last) nite of your stay and then again for the balance. If so, you could purchase the solo nite in order to 'look behind the curtain'. If you're happy with the results purchase the remaining nites, if not, make alternate plans for the balance of your stay. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know what you decide and how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
JK_47 Posted January 20, 2015 Author Report Posted January 20, 2015 Thanks for your suggestions and introducing me to www.biddinghelper.com. I will definitely be using that in the future! After many hours of research, I determined that the RIU Palace was the best bang for your buck in Montego Bay. Secrets Saint James appears to be the only sure thing you can get through Hotwire and it was only a few hundred dollars savings compared to the price thru non-opaque sites. I'd rather pay a little extra and have control of my room type...especially on a 6 night all inclusive vacation. In the end, I did what I rarely do, and booked the RIU Palace through their website. They will match any online price you find and offer 10% off for AAA members. I also signed up for the RIU Class rewards program and was given the option for free airport transfer when I booked. I'm not sure if it was worth the time and effort I put into it, but I saved around $1,500 by booking RIU Palace over Secrets Saint James on HOTWIRE. RIU Palace ranks higher on tripadvisor and appears to be superior to SSJ according to the reviews. It is a large resort so it depends on what you're looking for. I hope this helps someone traveling to Montego Bay in the future. Thanks to the admins and everyone that contributes here. Cheers and happy travels in 2015!
