gao7857
I plan to book El Conquistador Resort on hotwire for 1/23-1/25 but not sure of it with below informaiton:$121/night instead of $249/night (this price is striked out) 85% recommended, Amenities:free internetresortsuitebeachfront hotelfitness centerpoolsrestaurantbusineess center tripadvisor: 3.5/5 From the above info I am somewhat positive it is El Conquistador as it is 3.5/5 star and El Conquistador Resort lists exactly $249 in the standard rate. I have not figured out how to check the recommendation rate. However the "suite" and "beachfront hotel" make me wonder if it is Gran Melia as El Conquistador's $249 is for a room... and Gran Melia has mostly suite. also Gran Melia has 3.5/5 rating. But Gran Melia's rate is $207.I do not see other hotel with $249 regular price, which makes me think it is El Conquistador, but I do not know if it is a suite....Please help me .... is it El Conquistador, Gran Melia or another hotel? Thanks. Alao I looked at priceline. I wanted to bid for 4 star (>7.0/10 review), however worried if I will get Gran Melia instead of El Conquistador....because it is priced lower in standard rate. But I do see people get El Conquistador in bidding. I wonder if there is a more definite way to get it from priceline. Thanks anyway and always... Link to comment
thereuare
Welcome to BetterBidding! If you haven't yet, please start by reading your messages. I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? Using this method, below is the full list of amenities i'm seeing for the 4 star hotel in this zone when searching for your dates: Free Internet Resort Suite Beachfront Fitness Pool Restaurant Business Hi-Speed Internet Golf Tennis Spa Childrens Activities Room Accessible Wheelchair Accessible Bathroom Accessible Handicapped Parking ... if this is what you're seeing the Gran Melia would be my best guess for this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases... or thru our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate purchases. Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases Link to comment
gao7857
I have read my messages. This website and the links are very helpful! Thank you. Yes I guess it is Gran Melia. With BiddingHelper.com.com, it seems there is no deal for El Conquistador now. But I really want this hotel for my daughter. Should I wait for it to come up or try bidding on PRICELINE? Somehow we want to stay in that area from 1/23-1/27, and are flexible to stay there 2 nights to 4 nights, depend on Conquistador availability. Can you recommend a strategy to book it? Link to comment
thereuare
There is no way to 'force' HOTWIRE to offer you a specific hotel, nor is there any way to bid on a a specific with PRICELINE, so i don't see any way to specifically target the El Conquistador... the deep discounts you often see posted to the board is in exchange for being flexible on the hotel that you will receive. What is your maximum budget for any 4* hotel in this zone (and what is your budget if you were able to specifically choose the El Conquistadaor)? gao7857
For any hotel I am thinking bid PRICELINE for $100~110/nigh plus the tax&fees, for 4 nights; for Conquistadaor I am willing for $140~160/night plus fee/tax for 2 nights with another 2 nights in a cheaper hotel. However these are my guess, I do not know if the numbers are practical. My total buget for hotel is around $700 for 4 nights. Link to comment
thereuare
For any hotel i think your budget is in the right ballpark (although $110-$130 may be a bit more likely)... but i don't see anyway to target the El Conquistador for your budget. gao7857
How much do you think Conquistadaor could cost for January season? Is it worth to buy hhonors point or free night certificate for it? Link to comment
thereuare
It really depends how you value your points and how much you really want to stay at this property and how much it's worth to you. I know some say to spend points as soon as you get them, but i prefer to save them for high demand dates when there is nothing available in the area at a reasonable price. I'm usually fairly flexible in terms of where i stay (although i do like nicer/higher rated hotels), so for example in this situation i'd rather not waste points if i can get a nice 4* hotel in the $120-$130 range... savings my points for situations where my only option is for hotels in the $200's. gao7857
Hi There, I checked back for this El Conquistador hotel, as we want to stay 2 nights, either from 1/23-1/25 or from 1/25-1/27 or from 1/24-1/26. The normal price is $249 plus tax & fee/night.I found three things but not sure which one should I choose. Please help me.1. Priceline express show a 4-star hotel for $113/night, with Swimming Pool, Fitness Center, Restaurant, Business Center. Rating 7.0+, save 52+, can choose bed from 2 Queen or 1 King - Non-Smoking - Standard - Garden View. (My feeling is Gran Melia for this but not sure)2. Hotwire hidden deal show a 4-star hotel for $130/night from 1/24-1/26, with 90% recommended, Free Internet, Resort, Pet friendly, Beachfront hotel, Oceanfront hotel, Casino, Airport shuttle,Smoke-free rooms,Fitness center, 3.5/5 tripadvisor rating. (my feeling this is also Gran Melia but not sure)3. On El Conquestador I am a blue member, I google and find a code that gives 15% off if I put in "coporate account". The discounted price is $211 which is still quite high but If I have to... But my question is that will the hotel honor this price? will I get declined when checking in? Thanks in advance and Happy New Year!gao Link to comment
thereuare
Please keep all posts for the same stay in the same thread. For the HOTWIRE offer, I believe there are more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. If you repeat your search using our BiddingHelper.com tool... use the HOTWIRE EASY VIEW tab and then click the GREEN BUTTON next to this listing, do you see more amenities then what you have listed above? I don't know details of the corporate code you have found, but if it pertains to a certain group/company, you could be asked for credentials upon check-in and be charged full price if you fail to show the appropriate ID (some hotels are very strict, others don't check at all) The nites of 1/25-1/27 will likely be your least expensive and you can book the El Conquistador with this link for $229/nite which is fully refundable up until Jan 22 (confirm your dates on the landing page) Is the El Conquistador worth $100/nite more than the Gran Melia?
