iusedtobefunnier1 Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 Hi! this is my first time using Priceline and I'm hesitant on using priceline or if i should use any other booking site. Prices are off the roofs because it is December 8th and I'm looking to book from the 23rd of December to January the 7th. Is Priceline recommended for such a long stay? I'm looking for comfort in a good hotel and good price. I have no idea what my offers should be, taking into account the prices on all hotels are so high this tie of year in Manhattan. Can anyone please guide me on how I should proceed? I was about to book the ace hotel for almost 3,300 dlls with taxes included for the 15 nights. should I stay with that or should I risk everything and try priceline to get a better deal on a 4* hotel?
AaronJB Posted December 8, 2014 Report Posted December 8, 2014 The problem is that New Year's Eve - which is one of the most expensive nights of the year - is in the middle of this stay. The nights before and especially the nights after really aren't that bad. You may be able to get a better deal if you split your stay in two, if that would be acceptable, but Price.line is fine for a stay like this. Hot.wire may be of more interest if you are nervous about using one of these services, as with Hot.wire, it's possible to make and educated guess as to which hotels are showing in many cases. Please confirm which zones would be acceptable, your desired star rating and max budget. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted December 9, 2014 Report Posted December 9, 2014 I will also ask in addition to the above: -is staying in different properties and changing hotels mid-trip acceptable (in order to save money)? If so, how many different hotels/changes would you be willing to make? Two different hotels, three, four? -do you have plans within NYC for New Year's Eve? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
