apargentina Posted December 2, 2014 Report Posted December 2, 2014 I'm trying to ID a 3* hotel in Midtown East for $144/night.There's four in our party. Three adults and one child. My kids are 20 and 17.Free BreakfastFree InternetSmoke free roomsFitness CenterBusiness Center Is this possibly the Hampton Inn-Manhattan United Nations? I've two rooms reserved until the 14th of december ( Yotel ( two rooms) and Staybridge Suites). I like this location and it would save us $350 or $250 respectively. Thanks for any help you might be able to give me!
Kaizach Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 That appears to be the Hampton Inn United Nations. I just won this hotel on Hotwire for 12/14-12/17 and the parameters are the same.
thereuare Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! I am only seeing this property when searching for 2adults, are you including 3adults/1child in your search OR are you searching for two rooms? Either way, I believe there were likely more amenities then what you have posted above as HOTWIRE has a new interface that does not show the complete set of amenities unless you click thru a few extra links. For future searches/bookings you can do the following to ensure you're seeing the complete list: 1) use the EASY VIEW tab of our BiddingHelper.com and click the green 'See All Amenities' button OR 2) search HOTWIRE (or use the HOTWIRE tab at BiddingHelper.com) and...click the offeron the next page click the BOOK NOW linkin the TRIP SUMMARY box click the 'See more' link at the end of the amenitiesUsing the method(s) above (i used the 2nd method since the same property is not appearing in the EASY VIEW window) this is the amenity set i'm seeing for what i believe to be the property you're looking at: Complimentary Breakfast Free Internet Smoke Free Fitness Business Hi-Speed Internet ... if this is what you're seeing, my best guess for this one would be the Hampton Inn Manhattan/United Nations. apargentina Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 You're right it's gone now. It was still there last night before I went to bed. I should of grabbed it , but was worried about getting other 3* properties in that area. I did put 4 plp for one room in the search. I'll keep looking maybe it will come back. Thanks.
thereuare Posted December 3, 2014 Report Posted December 3, 2014 It looks like the issue is the nite of 12/19 as i am currently seeing this property offered for 12/15-12/19 at the $144/nite rate. Is SPLITTING YOUR PRICELINE BID an option... taking this for the first 4 nites and then: 1) changing hotels to a different hotel for the last nite 2) booking the same hotel thru traditional booking channels for the last nite (assuming you win the Hampton Inn United Nations it's currently $227 for the last nite of your stay when searching for 3adults/1child. Let us know your thoughts on the above and we'll advise accordingly. If splitting the stay isn't an option, what is the room rate per nite of your back-up reservation that you're trying to beat? apargentina Posted December 3, 2014 Author Report Posted December 3, 2014 You're right. Doing two separate transactions only saves me $100 not enough to risk changing. We currently have a rate of $1,090 for one room at the Staybridge suites. We've two queen rooms at yotel for $1,170. I'm willing to try Hot.wire for same price better hotel or the same type of hotel for less money. We really just want to be close to metro which the yotel isn't. Why I'm leaning towards Staybridge. I keep on looking daily on Hot.wire to see if something pops up. HTH Thanks for any help.
