thereuare Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! Please change the drop down menu on the top right of HOTWIRE's page to United States and the currency dropdown to US Dollars. Then continue to search HOTWIRE and post to the board in US Dollars so that rates are consistent and not subject to interpretation due to future currency fluctuation. Once you're ready to purchase stay on the US version of their site and simply change the drop down menu to whatever currency you'd like to use and complete your purchase. I'm not currently seeing any 5* hotels offered in this zone when searching for your dates and quad occupancy... are you still seeing this on your own HOTWIRE search? (when including 1room/4adults in your search) If so, using the method above, what is the room rate per nite in US Dollars? Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Michael150 Posted November 18, 2014 Author Report Posted November 18, 2014 Thank you very much. I would like to book two rooms for four people in this hotel which cost 86$ per night. But I'm not sure which hotel this could be. Maybe someone can help me? P.S. Sorry for my bad english. :(
thereuare Posted November 18, 2014 Report Posted November 18, 2014 I understand you just fine :) The Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace would be my first guess for this property, with the chance of the Intercontinental being a possibility as well. While i'm not certain of either, with a 4.5/5.0 TA rating i wouldn't be too concerned about quality with this one. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. (and please use the US version of the Hotwire site, as per above) Let us know how it goes or if we can be of further help. Michael150 Posted November 22, 2014 Author Report Posted November 22, 2014 We got "The Buddha-Bar Hotel Budapest Klotild Palace" in Budapest. First we were a little bit shocked (because we aren't fans of this style), but after reading the reviews we look forward to our stay in Budapest! Thank you very much for your great help!

Michael150 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Report Posted July 14, 2015 We are more than unhappy. We are at the hotel now and breakfast is not included although booked. They don't want to solve our problem. Never again.
thereuare Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 Send an email to Hotwire (or whatever method you think would be fastest to contact them) explaining that one of the reasons you bought this hotel was that it offered free breakfast... they will likely contact the hotel and try to resolve. I can't say what they will do in this situation, but if they are unable to resolve with the hotel, they may have you purchase breakfast and then reimburse you upon your return... but hopefully they will be able to straighten it out directly with the hotel. Their customer service is very good with tangible issues such as this (where an amenity listed is not offered)... less helpful with things that are intangible (ie- the hotel is not 'x stars' rated) Good luck and let us know if you're able to get the issue resolved. Michael150 Posted July 14, 2015 Author Report Posted July 14, 2015 Thank you very much for your friendly reply. I sent an mail to Hotwire and of course I will report. Thank you again, you really have a fantastic website! :)
thereuare Posted July 14, 2015 Report Posted July 14, 2015 Hoping to hear of a positive/satisfactory resolution. Thanks in advance for updating us once you hear back from them. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Michael150 Posted October 12, 2015 Author Report Posted October 12, 2015 3 months and about 25 mails later there is no solution for our problem (we paid for breakfast, but didn't get it). Hot.wire has a really bad customer service, they even didn't respond to a lawyer of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy. Therefore I can't recommend Hotwire and we'll never book again with Hotwire. I'm sorry to have no better news for you.
thereuare Posted October 12, 2015 Report Posted October 12, 2015 Is HOTWIRE not replying or what is their response? I'm a bit surprised as their customer service is usually quite good in situations such as this... with something factual like Free Breakfast and the hotel says 'not included' it is usually handled quickly and easily, where the issue is subjective (like if you think the hotel should be a lower star rating) it can get a bit more difficult to resolve. Sorry to hear you didn't have a positive experience with this situation. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
Michael150 Posted October 13, 2015 Author Report Posted October 13, 2015 Thank you for your reply. I asked Hot.wire over 25 times to solve this caused problem and to refund a part of our payment on our credit card. They only told us: "Please be reminded that in order to secure our low rates, our agreement with our hotel partners is that reservations will be used as booked. For this reason, reservations cannot be changed, transferred or refunded." Unfortunately Hot.wire didn't answer the mail of a lawyer of the Austrian Federal Ministry of Science, Research and Economy. This policy of customer service is really bad. Thank you again for your help and your great homepage! :)
