Priceline Hotel: Ho Chi Minh City - Vietnam - Priceline

Planning a trip to HCMC in December, Priceline has 5* hotels in inventory, any idea what they might be? Concerned that I don't get a 4* that Priceline decides to call a 5*. Also, Priceline does not show a map for HCMC, so I can't really tell how large an area they are considering HCMC to be.

Followed up as requested. Had not entered further info on those threads because no reservation was made.

 

Traveling Dec 2 to Dec 8, 2014. We may or may not spend all that time in HCMC, depending on what else we find nearby, but at present we plan to stay in HCMC.and certainly will be there on Dec 2 and Dec 8. Adult and 8 year child traveling together, so I think Pricelne will be safe to use on this one.

Please always conclude your threads, even if you don't use PRICELINE / HOTWIRE, book direct, cancel the trip, etc. as this helps keep the board better organized and more useful for everyone, as well as being a courtesy to anyone who took the time to help with your travel plans.

We have not yet seen any 5* hotels reported to the board in this zone, so it could be just about anything that PRICELINE deems to be 5* rated. When there is no map shown for a given area the hotel can be anywhere within the 'city limits'.

You can try our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com to get a feel for 5* hotels in the area as well as if there is anything there offered of interest and within your budget.

PL EXPRESS does have this 5 Star ho Chi Minh City property for $84/nite, and while not yet identified, it does have an excellent 9+ user review rating from previous PRICELINE guests and the following amenities:

Thanks for the assist. Priceline Express is not showing a map of their area either. This is worth considering, however I have found a non refundable 5* booking in HCMC, so I'll have to think about whether I want to chance it to save $15 a night.

Please check our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com as there are some 5* hotels there at just over $100/nite mark. It's also very easy to filter to only show the 5* hotels and evaluate if the savings are worthwhile to stay closer/further from the city center.

Decided the flexibility of obtaining accommodations on arrival suits my plans best on this trip. Will not be reserving anything at this point. Thanks for the assist.
