pariyap Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Can you help me ID these hotels in Hong Kong. I plan to stay during 6-8 December 2014 (2 nights) - Tsim Sha Tsui area 5*amenities identified in NYOP1) Indoor / outdoor pool2) Restaurant3) Fitness Center4) Business Center Please also suggest bidding strategy because this is my 1st time using NYOP Thanks
thereuare Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 Welcome to BetterBidding! The amenities shown on the bidding side of PRICELINE are amenities that are offered at every hotel of that star rating in the zone... NOT a specific hotel that you would be bidding on. As these amenities are offered at all hotels of this star rating it is not possible to use this information to try to determine what hotel you may receive when bidding. So we don't suggest a bidding strategy that goes higher than you're willing to pay, what is your maximum bid for a 5* hotel in this zone for this stay? pariyap Posted November 14, 2014 Author Report Posted November 14, 2014 I would pay not more than $170 per night. I also found 1 offer 5* hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui area in PRICELINE EXPRESS deals. It offers $219 per night. Is it possible that it will give out the same hotel? I tried to ID the express deals hotel and it seem to be The Langham Hong Kong (not really sure)?
thereuare Posted November 14, 2014 Report Posted November 14, 2014 When bidding 5* in Hong Kong you have NINE re-bid zones. If you're not familiar with re-bidding please read Priceline Re-Bidding Explained and feel free to ask questions and/or confirm your re-bid zones with the board before proceeding. Select 5* Tsim Sha Tsui... Bid $130, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $140, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $145, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $150, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $155, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $160, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $163, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $165, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $168, if rejected add re-bid zone... Bid $170 Any questions feel free to ask (especially regarding your re-bid zones if you're new to the subject) Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Please use this HOTWIRE and these PRICELINE LINKS: HOTELS, CAR RENTALS, and AIRFARE to begin your travel purchases
pariyap Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 Bidding up to $170 and turn out fail.Maybe it is a little bit too low
thereuare Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 You're still about $50/nite below the PRICELINE EXPRESS property (and i suspect well below 'regular rates' for 5* hotels in this zone) which is probably too much of a discount to be seeking. Using our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com what is the best rate you're able to find thru conventional booking channels? What is your current gameplan at this point in time? pariyap Posted November 15, 2014 Author Report Posted November 15, 2014 Still thinking between increase bidding or downgrad to 4* NYOP or 4* PRICELINE EXPRESS deal.
thereuare Posted November 15, 2014 Report Posted November 15, 2014 Let us know once you decide how you'd like to proceed... -increase your budget for a 5* hotel -try for a 4* property with your $170 maximum bid -go with PRICELINE EXPRESS Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Keep us updated on your progress and how we can be of further help in your planning/decision.
