Decincal Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 Hi.I made an offer of $90 for a 5* North Strip Property and Priceline made a counter offer of $106. Most of the hotels for my stay dates are in the range of $147-$200 for my stay date (12/25 to 12/29).I am willing to increase the price, but I am scared I might end up with Trump which is available through Express Deals for $97. My question is that does Priceline accept NYOP deals for a hotel at a higher price than what it is offering through Express Deals for the same stay? Thanks
thereuare Posted November 12, 2014 Report Posted November 12, 2014 If you bid on PRICELINE you need to be willing to accept any hotel in the zone at the star rating (or higher) that you bid. The objective of PRICELINE is to fill your purchase request at the price you name without respect to PRICELINE EXPRESS rates (or even 'retail' rates). If you're trying to avoid the Trump you should use PRICELINE EXPRESS (or HOTWIRE) and choose a hotel that shows the Casino amenity... since the Trump doesn't have a casino, this should safely keep you out of that property. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases. Let us know what you decide to do for this stay or how we can be of further help. Decincal Posted November 13, 2014 Author Report Posted November 13, 2014 Thanks for your response. I appreciate it. I have decided to book Platinum Hotel and Spa on Bookings.com because I am getting a great rate of under $600 for 4 nights, inclusive of taxes with free cancellations. I am also monitoring Priceline and Hotwire. If the price of my target hotels fall down, I will use your website link to purchase it and cancel my reservation at Platinum. Just for my informations - what is the lowest that Pallazo/ Venetian go on secret deals offered by Hotwire/Priceline. Right now, I am seeing it for $136 and $156 plus tax for a family of 4. Thanks

Thanks There is no "lowest" set price, rates can vary (sometimes significantly) from one day to the next - trying to plan a purchase on the discount services is really something done on more of a case-by-case basis. If you do have a party of four, I'd recommend Hot.wire, as Price.line only guarantees 1 bed/double occupancy. Please keep us updated with what you decide. Also, you can use our RateDrop.com service in order to get alerts on price declines on Hot.wire, PRICELINE EXPRESS or regular rates. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
thereuare Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 Please use our sister site MAPS and HOTELS.com for your regular rate bookings (where there is currently a refundable rate as low as $553/nite all-in at the Platinum Hotel). You can also use our new service RateDrop to monitor rates at this (or any other property) to get an alert if rates drop, as well as get notified of lower rates thru HOTWIRE and/or PRICELINE EXPRESS for your specific zones, dates, and star rating. Also, we have a new site BackUpBooking.com which only shows refundable rates and may be useful to you in the future when you're looking for a suitable back-up hotel to use while you're hoping for rates to drop or for your PRICELINE bids to get accepted. Let us know if any change to your plans or if we can be of further help with this trip. Decincal Posted November 13, 2014 Author Report Posted November 13, 2014 Thanks for the heads up. I will use Hot.wire Opaque Hotels listing.
AaronJB Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 Happy to help - please keep us updated on what you decide and let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.
Decincal Posted November 13, 2014 Author Report Posted November 13, 2014 Please help me identify. It looks like a good deal to me on Hotwire for a family of four. Which one is it? Also, Is Tropicana for $81 a good rate for the Christmas weekend? I am getting it as an opaque hotel, but HOTWIRE itself is showing that people got Tropicana in last 24 hrs. This is a detailed list of amenities - ■Pet friendly ■Casino ■Smoke-free rooms ■Fitness center ■Pool(s) ■Restaurant(s) ■Business center ■Internet access ■Golf nearby ■Spa services ■Accessible for visually impaired ■Accessible for hearing impaired ■Accessible path of travel ■In-room accessibility ■Accessible bathroom ■Accessible parking ■Roll-in shower
AaronJB Posted November 13, 2014 Report Posted November 13, 2014 When searching for 2 adults and 2 children, I'm seeing a 4* with these amenities in the South Strip zone for $62: Resort, Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Free Internet, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa, Free Parking, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Wheelchair Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower. This listing has not yet been ID'd/reported to the board, but it MAY be a new amenity set for the Tropicana. I'm seeing a 4* Center Strip for $67 - Casino, Restaurant, Pool, Fitness, Smoke Free, Hi-Speed Internet, Business, Golf, Spa, Blind Accessible, Deaf Accessible, Travel Accessible, Room Accessible, Bathroom Accessible, Handicapped Parking, Roll-in Shower, Pet Friendly. I'd guess this may be a new amenity set for the Westin. Thank you for using the board's HOTWIRE or PRICELINE links to start your purchases and searches.

If so, i'd agree with the Westin as the best guess. (please include the zones in your post, especially in an area like Vegas which has so many centrally located zones) Is Tropicana for $81 a good rate for the Christmas weekend? I am getting it as an opaque hotel, but HOTWIRE itself is showing that people got Tropicana in last 24 hrs. While i agree with the guess of the Tropicana for the amenity set that AaronJB listed for the 4* Strip South property, note that the "Last person got ___" info provided by HOTWIRE is for the last purchase of a hotel in the zone of this star rating... NOT necessarily the specific hotel offered. Please use the PRICELINE and HOTWIRE links on the board to begin your travel purchases.
